How good is Alex Formenton?
Superscout:
His assessment on Alex Formenton back in September, 2017.
From the Ottawa Senators Forum

You want the REAL scoop on Alex Formenton, here it is:
5'6", 120lbs in his OHL draft yr. Selected 216th (11th rnd).
Played one yr Tier II with Aurora Tigers and grew.
Came to Ldn's camp last September at 6'1", 157lbs.
Finished 1st overall in on-ice testing at CHL Top Prospects testing in Quebec City
and 4th overall in off-ice testing despite being "rail thin" and recorded the best vertical leap.
Reported to Ldn's camp in August prior to going to Sens Main Camp and came in at 6'2", 179lbs.
He has proven "hockey experts" wrong his entire life and continues to do so.
Elite skater who is hungry to succeed and has an edge.
Ton of upside here.
Very similar "hands haven't caught up to his feet" comparable to
Andreas Athasanaous in his rookie yr in Ldn.
Helluva Pick

Point looked very weak on the Dane goal...Thomas and Mete with assists on the Canada goal...Formenton is FLYING on the PK

Formenton with a goal now as well. Has to think he’s made the team now.
I will be very disappointed if Dipietro is cut. He has to be the backup this year and starter next year. Money goalie much like Parsons was.

Tonight’s prediction: London 3 Sarnia 4 and if London comes out with the win I’ll be really happy to be wrong.

Ouch. Not surprised with tbe result.

Im still not expecting much either way at the deadline. Add a little, sell a little or go with a lateral move or 2.
I question most the leaders on this squad when push comes to shove.

Id move Foudy, Moskal if you could find a team who was enamored with them as MM players.
Foudy is as soft as butter on the equator. I just don't see enough compete, willingness to pay a price to make a play, to go to the tough zones on the ice.... Hopefully the lightbulb turns on but its been a season n a half.

Didn't watch but can't say it's a surprising result. London is a team that relies on their high end guys and if you take away the high end guys...

First what a beautiful goal by Miletic and Pu! We should have rode the momentum instead of getting cocky, but man do we need to get some more older players. These young guys are too small, too soft and just don't have it...YET. I think we can afford to sacrifice some future talent to get this team in order. We can always get back picks. I feel the OHL is still open. I wasn't that impressed with Sarnia even though they spanked us I think its still a very very beatable team.

Big weekend coming up for the boys. I think it will have a heavy impact on what Simpson decides to do.
I think this is more of the game plan

If Mete comes back BUY BUY BUY
If Mete stays in Montreal SELL SELL SELL

I don't know if anyone took notice lately four of the last six goals against Raaymakers came from around the right (his left) faceoff circle and two of them were soft wobblers like that first goal in Erie Tuesday. I am not going to blame him on the loss as he has been our knight savior and also it is after all a team game but he has look a little shaky of late. He's could be a little too confortable in that #1 sposition, perhaps if he had someone else pushing for his job might help with his concentration a little bit more. Just my humble opinion
