Unfortunate that Lyubushkin got knocked out of the game, but it was a good clean hit by Rempe - - this is the NHL, not women’s hockey.

Another fighting win for Reaves, that’s two in a row in back to back games. Not quite as decisive as his TKO on Beardy O’Brien but Rempe has two black eyes now.

It was charging and he jumped. It was absolutely not clean.

That was the game of the season.

You're not gonna see a better one than that until the playoffs. It had everything. Kept fans on the edge of their seats until the very end.

The best part of the game was Reaves punching Rempe in his stupid ugly face.

I'm starting to warm up to Reaves again. Maybe he isn't just a waste of a roster spot and a million bucks after all. The guy has some serious swagger.

Along with a big meaty fist to back his big mouth.

The team has some chops this year. It's made for a more entertaining product. The regular season has been more enjoyable to watch than normal as a result.

With tonight's game the best of them all.

JT was unreal tonight, far and away the best player in the 3rd period.
Yeah it is unreal because he's good for about 5 games a year to actually look like an 11 million dollar player the rest of the time we can't fathom how he bamboozled us. Left with a feeling of not being in reality. 11 million for a faceoff specialist?

A charge isn’t clean.

Goon intentionally injures teammate, he gets whatever comes to him.
Amen……immediate and total retribution and if that ends his night so be it. The kid is just a novelty anyways. By next year at this time people will have a tough time remembering his name

I don't know about that he's getting the Linsanity treatment in the New York area right now. I mean if he can avoid the lights being turned off he can make a decent buck in the next few years. He's a 6'8 natural athlete who knows how to fight well and can skate. I was very impressed with his showing against Reaves even reavo showed a little respect for the kid by not having an overt celebration post fight. But the reality is Rempe needs to work hard to avoid the same fate as Boogard and others in his line of work. It can't be easy.

Good tilt.

Rempe played it safe and showed some defense at least.

Or was forced to.

Back to the trade market

I heard former enforces John Scott say Rempe as a big guy needs to grab hold of his opponent’s jersey and drive his hand into his opponent’s neck, looks like he heeded that advice, good tilt, the kids a giant and could be the next heavyweight contender……..

Nice win by the boys and deserved the it. They carried the play to Rags most of the night. The Defense however was collapsing too much in our end and gave away too many grade A chances that could easily have changed the outcome. Big shout out to Sammy for holding down the fort!
Benoit gives me Sulvain Lefebrve vibes from back in the day, he too was a very underrated get. Steady anchor that played defense first with timely hits. These kind of players are indispensable. Keefe over reaction to Willy was a negative for me, we all know what Willy is no surprise what we get sometimes. AM makes mistakes too but you would never see Keefe do that to him. GLG!

Harder path esp playing away might be better for the Leafs. As I am still afraid Keefe will galaxy brain line matching at home.

I thought Shek was better than Sammy. Both played amazing though and the scoreline really didn’t reflected how well both played
They both gave up a soft goal, other than that it was great goaltending from both guys………

Honestly, I think the Leafs have a better chance than the Oilers do, for whatever that is worth.
Nah I have it 55/45 for the Oilers to be honest. Draisaitl is an absolute menace in the playoffs and we don't have a dman of Ekholm's size and caliber which is a necessity these days. Add in Hyman and Kane and I think their toughness gives them a slight edge. Our toughest guys are all role players.

No, dirty players and goons get rewarded in this league. Chara did dirty shit all the time but it was ok because he was just a tough gritty leader or whatever BS. The league doesn't punish those guys. Plus Rempe has been bringing a lot of eyes to the sport recently and the NHL won't want to jeopardize that by nerfing his physicality.
Absolutely 0 commentary on the game coverage about how the league should look at it, poll how many games, etc. etc. like happens on a hit by a Leaf

Lots of excitement at Scotia last night .. fun game to be at .. one of best of year .. it was one of those games you want to see OT just continue on until someone wins rather than a SO .. but even SO kept everyone on edge of our seats .. nice to see reaves punch out Rempe .. nice to see Sammy makes da clutch saves to give us a chance to win .. as i have said JT on 3rd line would help out his game and 3rd period it was obvious this was/is most important decision to help out team .. still disappointed in Rielly being on ice near end of game as he lost his man net front once again .. Keefer bad mistake .. but overall a solid team win .. go Boosh go

Now just imagine if Reaves had threw the exact same hit on Fox.....endless masochism from our "hometown" media for sure.

This is why Bunting and Rielly received two of the hashest suspensions the last half decade and this will get nothing.

If a Leaf player gets injured by a cheap shot and the media deosnt make a sound, did it ever really happen?
