You see right now you lost all credibility... Because you seriously did not want ANY of the playoffs if you think Thomas Vanek is an ideal candidate to help instill a culture change. If you don't believe me please feel free to go back and review the NYR series between MTL and NYR because Vanek was a non factor. Nor was he a factor in the BOS series.

As for Danny Boyle he has stated he wants to play for a contender and we are in no shape or form a Stanley Cup contender...

Vanek would be a perfect fit on this Leafs team right now and that in itself is all the wrong reasons. No Vanek, no Yakupov, no Hemsky, no thanks.

If we just sign Moulson and Boyle...

Phaneuf-Boyle
Gardiner-Gunnarson

Cheap Back-up

That's pretty solid. Would still underachieve with Randy but looks good on paper. Somewhat realistic?

I believe that 2nd line might possibly give up more goals than the Spezza line did last year. You better have Suter and Doughty on the ice with them at the same time.

I propose a gamble Leafs Nation. If it works, we have a team that competes hard for 60 minutes and if it makes it to the playoffs, also makes a coach worthy of the Jack Adams. If it tanks, then the Leafs are in the lottery for McDavid. This is the year to experiment with the farm! This is the year to embrace true culture change! No more overpaid UFA signings or trading prospects for vets! Equal accountability for all!

(estimations for 2014-15)
SALARY CAP: $71,100,000; CAP PAYROLL: $59,852,500; BONUSES: $1,295,000
CAP SPACE (24-man roster): $11,247,500

This is a 24 man roster with 11M+ cap space remaing for trades that become available to bolster the team.

Phaneuf + 8th to Florida for 1st overall (Ekblad or Reinheart), Reimer to Winnipeg for a 2nd. Franson to Edmonton or Calgary for a 2nd. McClement, Bolland, Kulemin released. Ranger re-signed. Orr buried in the minors. Komarov signed at 2M.

Abbott, D'Amigo, Holland, Smith, Leivo, Ashton, Broll, Brennan, Granberg, MacWilliam, MacIntyre promoted.

Ashton is just a placeholder on the second line. Pre-season and first ten games Holland, D'Amigo, Bodie, Ashton, Leivo, Holland, Clarkson should be given looks on the second line.

Nightly healthy scratches for players that aren't towing the line and giving it their all!

Did I mention 11M+ cap space available to fill holes that become noticeable in the roster?

Culture change.

you replaced Leafs players with Marlies players, brought back Komarov for much less than he will sign for, and think there is a culture change?
the only change you made is the team went from playoff hopeful to lottery pick hopeful

That lineup would make us McDavid front runner.

i wonder how hard the leafs are going to push for stastny. he is probably the best center we are going to be able to get, especially if we are not giving up assets.

stastny signed $7 million x 6 years
trade lupul for bieksa

jvr (4.25) stastny (7) kessel (8)
kadri (2.9) bozak (4.2) clarkson (5.25)
damigo (1) holland (1) ashton (1)
ufa/marlie (1) mclemment (1.85) bodie (0.75)

phaneuf (7) bieksa (4.6)
rielly (0.9) gunnarson (3.15)
gardiner (3) granberg (0.8)
gleason (4)

bernier (2.9)
nabakov (3)

total cap = $67.5

even have some extra $$ to make a trade or signing if the situation presents itself.

Hopefully we finally sign or trade for a #1C (the good old Sundin era). Might be another rocky season with lots of highs and lows. Clarkson is hopefully not in the top 6, just to slow and hinders his line. Defense needs some work too. Only long term keepers are Reilly and Gardiner.

Until we have players that can play on line 2 and a second pairing d we are screwed. The more I think about it the more the untouchable list makes total sense.

Don't worry, Clarkson is hopefully not going to be on the second line next year. So the line should get a big boast.

You have 33 posts a day, wow. And Interactif as your 01 of 01 friends. Lol, one of the same.

Yep he doesn't sugar coat or follow along with what others say when it makes no sense.

Kulemin played more on the 2nd line last year.

Kulemin leaving will have the biggest impact on Kadri.
Cause when things went wrong, when we were getting out scored 6-1, Kulemin went back on the line with Kadri. And not because he's a 30 goal scorer. We will see.

I agree, Kule was the Bozak without the scoring to Kadri and Lupul. I can only imagine how bad defensively our #2 line would be without him to cover up defensively.

Trade Holland, Ashton, Franson, Riemer for Girardi (rangers flip riemer for picks)
let raymond walk, sign no one because next years free agent crop is better and we have enough overpayed players

Kadri - Ryan O'Riely - Clarkson
JVR - Bozak - Kessel
Kluemin - Bolland - Komarov
D'Amigo - McLement - Bodie

Bernier
Macintyre (Give sparks play time in marlies)

With this our first line team has the ability to allow Kadri to just let his raw skill ooze out. Clark and Riely are Defensively responsible to assist in Kadris turn aways

2nd line is something we know pretty well.

Komarov is a must to comeback and Bolland if he can stay healthy hed be worth it.

Not to sure about D. But I would bring up 2 of the Marlies Brennan and maybee Percy... We need to get Phaneuf to go back to the other side to go with his L handed shot.

(TO get Ryan I assumed getting rid of Gardnier not something I'd like to see but...

I think a move to forward could benefit not only Gardiner, but the team. We lose his puck moving/skating ability from the backend, but bring in Boyle to replace that for a couple years. Ship off Franson, Lupul and let go of Bolland, Kulemin, Raymond, McClement, Ranger and Reimer. Bring up the Marlies boys in D'Amigo, Ashton, Holland, Devane/Broll, Grannberg, Holzer/Brennan. Sign Moore and resign Bodie. Resign Mac and make him our backup. Save lots of $$$$$ and let our young guys develop while still competing for about the 4-8 spot in the East.

Don't pay much attention to the sides I have the D on, just pairings.

Whats with so many people leaving kulemin off their roster? I don't remember hearing any reports about him not wanting to resign with the leafs, did I miss something?

JVR and Kessel would've had better points per game this year if the entire team didn't go into that skid. Even with Bozak, who isn't a true #1 centre, that line showed dominance in numerous games this past year.
