I'd be fine with that. I know people that are friends with him and behind the scenes he always made it clear that he wants nothing to do with the media or city even though he grew up a Leafs fan. Doesn't sound like a winner to me.

And, as long as he doesn't have a change of heart this off-season or five years from now, I don't have a problem with that. To each their own... he had his chance when he was good to play for his boyhood team. He passed on the opportunity. He can now enjoy playing out his career on mediocre teams while the Leafs are headed nowhere but up.
