well if it's a breakaway they give a PS, they could give a PS on an empty net but that would just be a farce, so that's when they call an auto goal. Wouldn't be fair to interfer ewith a guy on a breakaway with an EN and then suddenly he gets a PS but there's a goalie in the net

imo he would have easily scored, he didn't have the puck in his possession at the time but you could reasonably say that the penalty prevented an pretty routine goal from being scored.
