I'm fine with this. It doesnt make us better or worse. It doesnt do anything really except depth I guess. I have to see what the retention is gonna be before I make a final decision

I hope this is not the only move we make. I pray and believe its not.

I respect Scuds and welcome him back but am a little scared at the same time.

Limit his minutes and shelter the heck out him please.

D market must really be a gong show.

A favour to ehrhoff perhaps? Hopefully scuds still had some gas in the tank. Welcome back the piece!

Half this board is ready to jump off a bridge.

I'll just say it right now - I bet Scuderi plays very solid in a limited role. He won't be worse than Ehrhoff.

Ehrhoff was a team worst -10, and he appeared in as many games as McBain who is only a -1.

I think some people are forgetting just how terrible Ehrhoff was. Easily the worst defenseman to don a Kings sweater since Randy Jones.

Yeah, I'm not sweating it. Ehrhoff doesn't help the Kings in the minors. Maybe Scuds helps the team as the 7th defenseman and in the locker room. I'm sure Dean has some grand plan regarding next season's term or whatever.

The Piece is back. It's a minor move and I'm fine with it. Knows the system so shelter his minutes and he'll be fine.

It might not look pretty but I bet he will be effective.

Good team player too.

“@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Hawks retaining 50% of their portion of Scuderi’s contract (Pens had previously retained 33%) and LA is retaining 15% of Ehrhoff’s contractâ€

Maybe it's another retirement thing. He went back to Pittsburgh for family reasons. Then gets traded west to Chicago, then finds himself in the minors. He's one of Lombardi's guys, and he gives him one last chance. Is Scuderi going to stay 3,000 miles away from his family next year? Did they move to Chicago? Is he going to move out here for a year and then go back?

Every dollar counts for the Kings, and Ehrhoff was a free agent at the end of the season. Is Lombardi going to take on a 37/38 year old defenseman when he's probably going to lose one or two younger guys than that as it is?

Or he thinks Scuderi can help the team more then Ehrhoff.

Ok some cap expert figure out the net effect here.

But it seems like we freed up cap space? If so, I'm hoping it means another move incoming.

Cap hit for Scuderi will be roughly $1,000,000 and the Kings will be on the hook for $225,000 for Ehrhoff. Total they'll be saving roughly $270,000 over Ehrhoff's current contract. How can anyone not like that?

Check that, saved about $150K this year, can't imagine their is a move out there contingent on having that much extra space.
