Doesn’t he want out?If we can get Miller at around 7m we keep him. Worth more than traded with that extension.
No, he wants to get paidDoesn’t he want out?
In the US from what I understand. No, he wants to get paid
Agreed, JT is younger and has a more proven ppg rate than Kadri in the last 3 years. JT won't sign for under 8m... not in Canada anyway and likely not anywhere if he puts up ppg numbers this year and makes it to free agency. No way in hell is Miller signing the same deal as Kadri.

Miller loves Van, but his ask may not make sense for our timeline. If we can work it out, he’ll sign here. If he goes UFA, I do believe he’ll sign in the U.S.In the US from what I understand.
You are vastly understating the difference here. Miller has scored 60 more points over the last 3 seasons, while playing on a team that scored 120 less goals than Kadri's. The gap is significant, without even getting into the fact that Miller is younger. Both players excelled last season. JT has been better past 3 seasons, age .. but both have bite and play a same style. I could see 6 x 8, 7 x7 .. i mean sorry man not every player in a cap game is getting 7 x 10 and crap like that. I find your position is unreasonable. 7 x 7 would be fair, slight SLIGHT under payment. Miller himself feels he wont get close to 100 again.

True facts... but you need to feild a winning team. No team has won the cup with a player signed to a deal 10 mil or over. So for Miller to sign say 9 to 10 million over what?? Huh ??? 5 or 6 years he best be top 5 in the NHL, which he is clearly not. A few players at 9.5 two I think have one a cup?You are vastly understating the difference here. If we can get him at that price, absolutely! He’s worth quite a bit more though. I’m hoping he’ll accept a slight bump over 7 and this saga will finally be over withIf we can get Miller at around 7m we keep him. Worth more than traded with that extension.
If keeping him was an option then he would never have been on the market at all.If we can get Miller at around 7m we keep him. Worth more than traded with that extension.

If the Canucks were in the same place competitively as Calgary, this would make sense. Just sign him and go for it now.Again.... If Miller is willing to sign 7x7M, why would Vancouver move him? That's a great contract for him(Mind you I dont think he signs for 7M, closer to 8M).
The argument about "He doesn't fit our core" doesn't work when he's a player as good as he is(At least according to Canucks fans), if he's that good you do what you have to do to keep him and build around him. It's not like he's super old, still only 29. You trade Horvat and re-sign Miller, go with JT and Petey as the Top 6 Centers, with a combination of Boeser, Garland, Hoglander, Podkolzin, Mikheyev, and Kuzmenko as the Wingers in the Top 9.
But we’ve been told Vancouver “quietly” has the best forward group in the NHL and can “quietly” take the Pacific this year. Sounds like he’s the perfect fit.If the Canucks were in the same place competitively as Calgary, this would make sense. Just sign him and go for it now.
But the Canucks are not contenders. I'm not sure how the club would realistically expect to improve by doubling down on a mediocre roster - just at even more expensive prices.
Really, they need significant roster reconstruction.
