They weren't allowed. Same reason the Hockey Canada logo was not used.

Speculation: New Team Canada Jerseys?

According to Yahoo Sports we may have seen an early leak of Canada's jerseys at Sochi 2014.

Unlike Team USA and Team Russia, Team Canada opted not to debut their new Olympic jerseys as their recent Olympic orientation camp. They haven't even announced a date yet for the unveiling.
But we're pretty sure Jonathan Toews, a lock to be on the team, got a sneak peek, and even the opportunity to be photographed in it. Here's a picture snapped during the 2013 NHL Player Media Tour on Thursday in Newark. It seems a safe bet that this is Team Canada's new sweater:

I think they probably are the jerseys, because if you look closely they have the same fake lace thing as the USA duds. Maybe this is a theme. Do you think these are the jerseys, and what are your thoughts if they are?

Yeah I never liked this current trend of never putting anything near the bottom. For some it works, but for others it makes for a bland look.
