I can look past the contract, it’s in the past and nothing can be done about it, but I can’t look past the Ice time. Mika is the least physical forward on this team. Maybe second to Wheeler but barely. Panarin doesn’t need to be as physical as he is. His value is elsewhere but despite that he actually puts in an effort to attack the puck carrier and doesn’t shy from contact when he has the puck. Mika does none of that and is one of the least productive forwards on this team more than halfway in.

A part of me wonders if Chytils situation has him playing scared again. I swear before that injury Mika was throwing checks. I even joked that he now had “dad strength”. He needs to sit a game. It won’t happen next game because he got the gwg, but a message needs to be sent. Way too passive. Hell, I’d settle for his PP time cut but I can’t even get that.
