He takes punches so others don’t have to. Win or lose the fights it doesn’t matter. He prevents others on his team from having to fight.

He's not a great fighter but the shots to his dome don't seem to even phase him so he's definitely tough.

hes a skinny 21 year old fighting many of the best fighters in the league. he doesnt use his reach effectively. if he learns to simply extend his grab arm and keep his opponent too far away from him to effectively punch then the opponent wont land any shots on him.

Hes 21, it took him 14 games to fight almost every single heavyweight thats actually left in the league as a rookie and he went toe to toe with a few of them.

This thread is so stupid

Yes, his technique is still lacking. But he's 21 years old, and has basically fought most of the heavyweights in this league already, and didn't get destroyed (against Oliver maybe). He's only going to get better.
He'll have a short career because he cannot play hockey.
He's going to be a good 4th liner, because he can actually skate. It's kinda ridiculous really, when you see a guy that big that can actually move relatively quickly. Just like with his fighting technique, he's going to improve his understanding of the game.

He's going to have a long NHL career, I can guarantee you that.

Not every tough prospect is going to be a Lucic, pummeling enforcers from day 1.

He will learn. He lands some good punches even in the fights he loses.

Did you describe Tom Wilson?

Wilson's fought every single tough guy in the league at least once. He's got Reaves, Simmonds, Martin, Chara, Prust, Gudbranson, Deslauriers, Bieksa, Johnston and the list goes on.

Now, if you want a guy who constantly cheap shots other players and goes to hide behind the refs whenever he knows he's about to take a beating, look no further than Brad Marchand.

Because of his size he has to take on seasoned heavyweights so its no wonder he won't come out on top. But he's hanging with them. He held his own with MacDermid.

The question with Rempe is can he play more than 5 minutes / game without hurting his team. Can he play quality minutes. I haven't seen any evidence yet.

But he sure can agitate the opposition. That has to count for something.
