Made some great moves at the draft to get Chychrun. Then got Anthony DeAngelo for cheap, who might be a terrible person but looks like a solid top-4 guy. Crouse deal was not a clear win but still not bad. And is now meticulously tanking for the #1 pick to add another great prospect to the Coyotes cupboards. All in just 6 months of being a GM. Many GMs have done less in several years

I like his moves, but the Yotes are horrible. They need to do something before we judge him as a great GM.

Yup. This is a little early. When Arizona is winning games and making the playoffs then we can judge the additions he has made.

I like most of what he's done so far, but to be among the best in the league you have to largely responsible for creating a power house. Chayka has had a good start, that's all.

Best GM in the league by trying to tank year 1? Going to take a lot more than that!

Liked most of his moves, but thought some were extremely overrated on here.

He has to actually turn his team into one of the better teams in the league to be considered one of the best GMs in the league. He had a good amount of solid pieces in the organization when he got there so if he can't turn the ship around into a playoff team in the next 2 or 3 years then I would say he's probably not a very good GM.

It's too early to tell and name him that. In terms of prospect terms, he has very strong potential to be a top-5 GM in the league in terms of mind-set and how he's approaching the management game.

6 Month as GM asking if he is the best GM in NHL :shakehead

He has made some nice moves but there is more to being called the best then making some nice moves. Coyotes need to actually become a good team with moves he makes before this question should be asked.

Typically you should wait for good results before you claim success.

I think he's a good GM who is breaking the stereotype of a position typically held by a 50+ year old.

Is he #1? Absolutely not lol he hasn't done anything to drive or show team success.

Not trading up for Tkachuk was pretty amateur, as was not hard balling Detroit into letting him keep the 53 OA since they needed to dump Datsyuk no matter what. Giving up picks for a dime a dozen player in Crouse was a bad move too. Getting DeAngelo to drop red pills on the rest of the Yotes players was pretty based tho

He's renting dead cap space to desperate GMs and took a chance on a guy who one of the best GMs in the league was happy to move

Let's see what he does to build a contender and how shrewd he is then when he has to compete with other GMs, for now he's leading the 29th place team to another lottery pick
