Well he's 40+.

His ability to be a big impact player every now and then is a good sign for the playoffs when he'll be giving it his best and possibly last shot. He's been great together with Helm or Datsyuk.

Interesting to see whether he makes the Olympic team. Kristian Huselius recently made his prediction for the Team Sweden roster and didn't have Alfie on it, but I have a feeling he'll make it. Especially if Eriksson isn't back to 100% in time.

Alfie is pretty much a power play specialist. And there's nothing wrong with that given the positive impact he's had on the top power play unit.

Missed the game last night and have been waiting all day to watch. I've been purposely avoiding this forums and any sports channels as I didn't want to hear the score. I had a feeling that this would be the game up until a couple minutes left. I started thinking not again.

Alfie had a great game tonight, Dats started picking it up again. Will be nice to get some of our guys back.

Mickey Redmond was saying Datsyuk didn't look like himself... but after last game he does?

Pavel had 2 points at Florida the day he returned, Mickey was saying, "Oh he's back, baby!"

If Datsyuk is in the lineup he will help this team win, good night or bad for him. I don't care what the record states. He displays such genius fans start to demand it. Life doesn't work like that.

Why should he have to single-handed carry this team each game? Because he make 7 million a year? I'd give that salary up for Pavs to train our other players. Follow Datsyuk. Eat what he eats. Practice backhands. We need some of these younger cats so step up and make the impossible real, they need to win games. Datsyuk is the least of our problems!

True I admit he was not as focused on scoring but every game he's been back has been miraculous, some of you should switch to high-def it's worth it to note the extreme talent of Datsyuk. His attempts are wins in my book! ;)

First games back from an injury always seem to be better than games 2, 3, 4, etc..

Players are so excited about being back that adrenaline carries them throughout that first game. We see it all the time. Then the next game they're not as pumped up that they realize their legs and timing need to get used to competing at a high level again. Even Datsyuk's return from his broken hand/wrist was the same way. He came back and was the best player on the ice in a game against the Rangers. Then you could tell that he was rusty in the following games.

Datsyuk was clearly not the same player he is in a few of those games when he came back. He looked slow and weak. He easiest way for me to judge whether Datsyuk is on or not is how he's skating. When he's on his game he has that quick, explosive jump. Those were missing for a few games. I noticed it coming back against Anaheim despite the loss and just watch the 3rd period to see what it looks like when he's really back.
