Bottom of a bottle
Good hands and great hockey iq. Goes to the dirty areas.

But the guy skates in mud. If a team's game is based on speed he will be incredibly frustrating to watch.

He was HORRIBLE in Florida. I think that really took down his value

He might be best off signing a 1 year deal and hope he has a bounce back season. Next years UFA crop looks weak and add expansion he might get a better payday next year

Oilers should offer him a 3 year deal at 3 million per.
Once yaks is traded, he can be 2 RW and then bumped down to 3 RW once Jesse Puljujarvi comes into his own.

He's 32 coming off a mediocre season and probably wants to be paid for his 54 and 76 point seasons, not last year. He probably wants money and term and likely wants to play for a playoff team. Cap space is tough to come by for a lot of those teams.

Add to that he's smallish and not particularly fast or physical and you can see why teams didn't run out to sign him.

If you get him on a 1 year deal its a no brainer for any team with the cap space and roster spot. Its the multiple years that get scary for a 32 year old who looked like he hit the wall hard at the end of the year. I wonder if the Leafs would be in with the Babcock connection. 1 or both of Lupul or Michalek would have to go though

He wasn't very good last year, especially when he went to Florida. Was pretty much invisible in any Panthers game I watched.

You just had the itch to write something!

Hudler

What I like to refer to as Flin Flon bomber tough.
Have the stones to go to the net.

he switched from a fairly elite EVg scorer in Detroit to a EVA machine Calgary.
The whole top 30 IN EVA and EVP production in 15-16.

why did Hartley play him reduced Minutes?
A tough comp forward breaking even with lesser teammates.

Could you imagine him getting soft comp minutes on any team. with a young high Shooting % forward.

I see a leafs logo.
I understand how you would not notice hudlers play.

Leafs fans tend to like the Physical Fighting Forwards who are to Chicken to go to the tough man's area.

You look at players like domi who was a perimeter shooter until
Quinn and Rick Ley taught/ (made him go to the area) starting in 00-01
he went from 7 G a season to 12-13 G a season.
A legitimate +1 top 9 fwd.

hudler was top 30 EVA fwd and top 50 evp forward in CGY

He was top 30 EVG fwd and top 60 EVp forward in Detroit.

As an oiler fan I would love hudler on our team.

Based on the previous post, the stats seem to indicate that he will definitely bring value to whoever signs him. Especially if its true that he was playing through an injury.

I bet he's asking for 4.25M and 4years +

Teams want to give him 1 year at 3.5M

My prediction: 2 years at 4.25 or 3 years at 3.85M

Most likely term.. Jiri wants stability. He's a good player but a great person, I can't see him liking the idea of bouncing around too much. Probably wants a 3 years 4.5m contract and not many teams will line up for that. If he wanted one year he would of already been signed

Jim Benning would hear that at the negotiation table and come back with 5 mil x 6 years.

Agent is probably making GM's jump through too many hudles.

Even in his "mediocre season" he scored at a 52 point pace. His season was mediocre because of his injuries, not because of his abilities.
