Both were at the top my list.

To be fair, I think Addison will be long gone before the 6th round in june. Probably a 4th round guy but if a team likes him enough he could even be a 3rd rounder. Really raised his stock towards the end of the season.

After two rough seasons in Saginaw it looks like he is finally coming on. Wouldn't be surprised if him and Konecny really light up the OHL next year.

With their final pick of the draft, the St. Louis Blues will double up on an earlier pick, and select from the Saint John Sea Dogs, LW Mathieu Joseph

Aside from his offensive upside, Joseph has the added bonus of chemistry with his linemate (and earlier St. Louis pick) Sam Dove-McFalls.

The Jets select D Vili Saarijarvi from the Green Bay Gamblers (USHL).

Undersized offensive D-man.

I wanted this guy so badly throughout the draft but found it hard to justify taking yet another small offensive d-man when I already had Dunn and Lindgren so I chose not to. Really liking his upside, was terrific in U18's.

Can anyone PM Arizona GM? I'm on my phone.

Done.

With our last pick in the draft, the :edmonton select, from the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, Colton White!

Brock Otten said:
Absolutely massive potential. White is just scratching the surface of what he's capable of in the OHL. He's a fantastic skater who only needs a few strides to get to full speed when exiting his own zone. At times this year, he showed an ability to gain entry into the offensive end with ease, but simply needs to gain the confidence to do this with regularity. I think he also profiles as a power play quarterback based on his ability to keep pucks in at the blue line and by how well he sees the ice on the point. Improving his shot will be critical though. Defensively, he uses his mobility to stay ahead of forwards off the rush and is not afraid of taking the body to take forwards out of the play. Adding strength is a priority to make him more efficient in the corners, but he shows great determination in his own end. Really all he needs is greater ice time. Once he starts getting consistent power play time and off the 3rd pairing, he could breakout in a big way. Could be part of the top pairing in SSM next year with Gustav Bouramman (a guy he showed great chemistry with this year).

A skilled two-way winger…skates well with a short effective stride…has good quickness and is elusive when he has the puck…can make slick plays with the puck and creative passes…impressive vision…has an accurate shot with goal scorers instincts…needs to add strength…despite his size he is willing to throw checks and go into gritty areas…hard on the forecheck and uses an active stick to disrupt his opponent…defensively responsible…impressive play to date in the KHL

Some of his goals from the KHL:

With our last Pick Carolina selects Deven Sideroff

dw_deven_sideroff_kamloops.jpg

An offensive winger with tremendous work ethic and determination. Possesses quick feet and quick hands to go along with a high level of thinking when it comes to coming up big in the game's key moments. Good vision and compliments his linemates on the rush. Shoots the puck on-net when he has the puck in a good position, and when he isn't in a good position he can hold onto the puck or make a quick play to a teammate. All-in-all, a smart hockey player with noticeable speed and determination; plays above his age level. (Curtis Joe, EP 2014)

If Colin and Colton both make it to the NHL, the equipment manager is going to have to get creative with namebars...

Great pick. I was considering him with my last pick. I think he's got more to offer than shown. Nicely done.

Nice pick. I like Sideroff a lot and would've probably taken him with my next pick if he was still there. Overall good job on your draft. A lot of small players but also a ton of skill. That's how you build a team
