Immobile
Mandzukic Brozovic Kramer Callejon

Get some. Maybe not the most exciting but very efficient and extremely difficult to play against and even harder to score on.

If anyone has an extra left sided player that they can trade I can find room, but am very happy.

Veratti as the 8 with Brandt and Mane on the wings. I like my midfield.

Cuadrado is one of those players you assume has been picked way earlier so you don't even consider him and choose other targets.

First team:

Suarez - Lacazette
Asensio
Gundogan - Thiago
Casemiro
Mendy - Pique - Bailly - Valencia
Handanovic

or

Suarez - Lacazette
Thiago
Gundogan - Fabregas
Casemiro
Mendy - Pique - Bailly - Valencia
Handanovic

Reserves:

Schick
Coman - Asensio/Lanzini - Inaki
Fabregas - Dendoncker
Nacho - de Ligt - Yeray - Tete
GK

Feel like I have a very balanced team with lots of winger+youth options to come from the bench. Very happy with it.

I knew Cuadrado was still on the board. Didn't like his CL meltdown though and where I'd have room for him I'm not sold on him there entirely either. Still not bad value here at all.

Wee Baby Seamus F.C.

Main XI (3-5-2)

Zlatan Ibrahimovic - Paulo Dybala
Henrikh Mkhitaryan
Layvin Kurzawa - Andres Iniesta - Corentin Tolisso - Dani Alves
Cesar Azpilicueta - Raphael Varane - Joshua Kimmich
Gianluigi Buffon

BENCH: Anthony Martial (ST, LW), Marko Pjaca (LW), Kevin Gameiro (CF), Dani Parejo (CM), Grzegorz Krychowiak (CDM), Juan Cuadrado (RM, LM, RWB, LWB), Sebastian Rudy (CM, RWB), Benjamin Hubner (CB), Lucas Hernandez (CB), Omer Toprak (CB), Jack Butland (GK)

Alternate formation (narrow 4-2-3-1)

Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Andres Iniesta - Paulo Dybala - Henrikh Mkhitaryan
Corentin Tolisso - Joshua Kimmich
Cesar Azpilicueta - Raphael Varane - Lucas Hernandez - Dani Alves
Gianluigi Buffon

Rather than lay out two elevens like others did, I prefer to just list my bench. I placed an emphasis on versatility when picking depth players in order to make the team as adaptable as possible. The starting XI I've laid out here is clearly very offensive; however, through easy reconfiguration it can become a far steelier lineup. Strong offensive wing-backs, both of whom have actually played with our forwards, form an integral part of the lineup, and Cesar Azpilicueta can replace Kurzawa at LWB when we need a strong defensive presence out wide. Similarly, if a less "run and gun" player than Corentin Tolisso is required next to Iniesta, Kimmich can slide up, or Krychowiak can enter the lineup. Most of the players in the squad can play multiple positions, which is a major asset. I will probably make an actual tactical post in the next few days.

That's fair enough, but he played 45 games for a squad that almost won a treble so I'm okay with the meltdown

I'm not big on commenting on other teams just yet. While not entirely sold on your team (much less any team including my own, though I think one can tell how teams would land) I think you did well getting Suarez, Thiago, Pique, Lacazette, Casemiro, Mendy and Asensio. Probably would have passed on Lacazette for say Lemar, but hindsight is 20/20. Still one thing I think you can say is that your team at least is good for a good amount of goals with Suarez and Lacazette. I mean I would think 55 goals conservatively. With a lot of the other teams I'm left wondering where the goals will be coming from.

Well considering the clubs you support you're OK with nutjobs in general.

Clubs? Plural? I support one club and one club only. I root for different teams in other leagues, but Chelsea is my one and only club. And we have just one nutjob, and he's a nutjob I know you'd support if he played for you guys!

Assumed Lemar would be available for my next pick after Lacazette :dunno: I always go with one striker in these drafts so wanted to do try a different approach with the Laca pick.

Like I said, hindsight is 20/20. Still at that pick you still take Lemar if you ask me.

Well your profile makes it look otherwise, but the point stands. Nutjobs abound.

LOL I haven't looked at that profile in forever. When I was first getting into football, I was drawn to Real Madrid because I thought Mesut Ozil was such a fun, silky player to watch. As I came to understand football more, I came to hate Madrid (as most people do). I'm gonna change that right now

Now, now, our only nutjob is Diego Costa.

Well you had nutjobs in the past. Mourinho, Terry, Drogba... Luiz looks like a nutjob.

Yes as I said before. We had one years ago and it was fun. Only thing : you can't participate in a draft for a league you follow the most. Example I can't draft in L1.

Well I follow MLS most so I think we would be good there

I'd be willing to help run one if anyone is interested! Would prefer to do an EPL one though.

Last time we did the 5 big leagues and the specialist of each league judged their favourite league. So each GM competed in 4 leagues and judged 1.

No, as many as you want. All GMs draft in 4 leagues and judge in the one they're most specialized in. Of course, I'm guessing we'll have more than 2 or 3 EPL judges, but that doesn't change anything.

I think there was an classic players draft also. Not sure if it got completed though.

I thought that was pretty interesting idea. I would've joined but my footballing memory only goes back to Japan/Korea 2002.
