It obvious, at least highly likely that had Ves and Niku been included to the roster during Helsinki trip, their contributions and performances would've been above average, and certainly not worse than we saw from few other guys.

Playing in Finland for home crowds... no way they wouldn't put out their best. But we'll never know for sure.

I was surprised at how dysfunctional most of the lines (1st and 2nd line especially) were during 5v5 hockey. I had previously thought that Laine was the one holding his line back, but it seems there are more problems in the line-up.

A team with that level of talent should be better.

The Jets could and should do wonders with better player deployment, strategy and possibly a different coach.

Just my 2 cents.

Helly back to .907 which isn't getting it done, playoff level netminder needs to be .920 or better!

Anything over .915 for Bucky and we should be ok to make the playoffs however he will need to up that number in the post season. Thankfully Bro Swat has been kicking some back up ass so far or things would not be too joyful in joyville.

i have a theory lemuiex is a spoiled child who had everything he wanted growing up and resents his dad for not being around more often and was forced to take up hockey but deep down hates everything about the game and everytime he steps on the ice he sees his dad leaving on another plane and wants to hurt someone to make the pain stop.

Not even sure he could bring what he brought last year this year.

Either way a diminished Toby would be light years ahead of what Morrow and Kuli are brining because they are having really rough starts to the season. With Morrow I somewhat expected it because he has been been a #7 most of his NHL career to date but it’s really too bad about Kuli since he cost us allot and we are stuck with him next season. Toby had his limitations offensively but he was still one of our best defenders and a hell of a puck mover. I miss his calmness in our own end. Either way the Toby ship has sailed but I am not sure how much longer they can keep holding off on Niku but Paul can be stubborn.

I hate being right about Lemmy.

He cost us the game yesterday because he remains f***ed in the head and has always been f***ed in the head. At every level of hockey since his stint with the Green Bay Gamblers there have been problems. At some point the kid could cost us a playoff series by snapping. It goes without saying we can’t afford it for at best a 4th line talent. Hopefully he gets a lengthy suspension.

Put Schief with Ehlers and Laine and Little with Wheeler and Connor , enough with the Schief and Wheeler combo already . Morrow is horrible , call Niku up for our next game because right now we only have 2 defenseman that can pass the puck out of our own zone , Buff and Morrissey , well Trouba isn't bad either but the rest are horrible . Playing Helly back to back was stupid especially when the back-up goalie is playing good , big mistake by Maurice .

If we split up Scheif and Wheeler, this will give us a much more balanced attack.

Laine has been an issue this year up until these last two games. Two games doesn’t change that.

That said, we’ve had consistency issues all year. Mostly with the young guys but also Scheif and Wheeler as well.

I can't argue a single point you've made and I really would like to see the "not so dynamic" duo split. Unfortunately, the Jets' "around 0.500" head coach has some issues, one of which could be too much deference paid to a certain player(s).

I've been saying for weeks that Mick E Moose needs a shot on that fourth line. He's got size, width, antlers, and battles in the corners like a champ. I know I know -- draft position. But the kid's a moose, and it's Fall. This is his season.

I'm sorry about the 550 -- on the other hand, that was an all-time great snip by Laine. One for the memory banks for sure.

K Connor with Wheeler.

Leave 4th line Laine for now with Lowry.

Well Lowry is most definitely not our 4th line centre. More like 2nd if you use TOI.

I think I'd like to see something like:

Ehlers - Scheif - Copp
Perreault - Lowry - Laine
Connor - Little - Wheeler
Tanev - Roslovic - Petan


Each line has zone defensive responsibility, grinding, zone entry, playmaking and shooting, plus proven chemistry.

It would require balanced TOI though.

It's also DEFINITELY not a Maurice-style 4th line either. He just uses his 4th "not to get scored on" and they don't get enough minutes to get rolling offensively. So might as well just dump all the "worst" players there and swap Roslovic and Copp. Not sure that Ehlers - Scheif - Roslovic would be able to dig out pucks though; Scheif would have to do a lot more work here. Ehlers is getting better at it though.

Wheeler and Little were very good together and Connor would work great with them , Laine needs a center like Schief to get him the puck , Ehlers would be the speed on that line just like Connor would be with Little and Wheeler . I just think it's weird that when Maurice is changing the lines he never touches Schief with Wheeler , they are very good together but they both stay out too long and always look gassed out there .
