I almost prefer watching the Spanish broadcast for its little nuances, I.e. a Spanish-speaking male voice actor attempting to sound feminine for Elisha Cuthbert.

Babcock comes off real well. If Clears wasn't on the team... He's a good coach, but he just can't quit Daniel and it hurts the team so bad.

All in all, it was good. Not enough Datsyuk. As in, he didn't say anything to the camera.

Haven't watched it yet but it occurred to me that this might help explain why they're so lousy at home and better on the road this season. Got camera guys on the road trips, makes the guys feel like movie stars. Then when they get back home to reality there's a letdown.

I've actually experienced this on business trips. You go stay in a hotel, eat at restaurants on the company dime, get to feel like a big shot. Then you get home and reality sets in. I have no idea if it could be happening to the Wings this season, but it's a thought I had and it makes as much sense as any other explanation I've heard.

Kessel is good for some laughs. He's a goof.

But yeah, these teams aren't overflowing with personalities. Of course it's going to be a letdown after the show Bryz put on in the last one.

Come on Bench...Carlyle vs. the toaster was riveting television.

I also can't believe they chose to include Alfredsson telling his little girl not to pick her nose....that will be a great memory for her and her family.

IIRC in the past the first episode is usually a little slow.

I only watched the Wings segments. Not bad.

I'm not really expecting much though. For example that whole "Universe" drama with Bryz a couple years ago wasn't that entertaining to me but I find features like the CBC Inside Hockey intermission specials to be very entertaining.

I thought the Wings were the boring ones.. At least Leafs had some things going on, especially when Lupul went at it with Voynov.
