does this kill the long pasta nylander debate and make it

pastrnak v matthews

Not trying to be an ass, but why was there ever a debate?

Pastrnak is not only younger than Nylander but out produced by a large chunk in each of the past two seasons. That's not to say William Nylander is not an awesome young player than any team in the league would be lucky to have.

But rather, Pastrnak broke into the league as an 18 year old and has only ascended from there. Looks like this playoffs is where he hopefully gets the recognition he deserves.

Probably because Pasta is on the best line in hockey. With how Bergy struggled offensively last year (especially early, and most likely due to a nagging injury) and how Marchand and Pasta responded with Riley Nash centering them as Bergy was absent this spring, that factor should be slightly diminished. Also, even if it weren't, the gap is big enough that it's not really close to a deciding factor anyway.

It's just crazy to me that some people thought Nylander was better than Pastrnak not too long ago. Which tells me 2 things, one this guy was seriously underrated, and two clearly there are some awful opinions out there.

Completely different coach back then, but sure.

One of those teams was coached by Julien also (2010). He won a Cup the next year.

Babcock blew it against the Pens as well. Maybe his first-hand experience will let him take advantage of the situation... like when he made Marchand think he could be a good player as coach of Team Canada.
