Has Gary Bettman Cup presentation night run its course?

The every year predictable Cup clinching postgame tradition of Bettman comes out, gets booed mercilessly- do you think it has run its course or is it one of those traditions that never gets old?

If he had chosen to not speak until it gets quiet, this would have stopped either a long time ago, or at the very least when it goes a minute or so, because people want to see the winning team celebrate with the trophy.

are Vegas fans going to boo him? Ridiculous considering how much the league has grown since Bettman has taken over, but people like to pick on a guy like Bettman for whatever reason

I was just thinking the same thing. There would be zero grounds for the fans to boo him if Vegas won on home ice. What issue could they possibly have? Steep expansion fee? The franchise is worth every penny they paid now (and possibly more).

I think they should parade him out in some fantastic theatrical manner. Explosions and fireworks, where he performs contorted Cirque de Soleil gymnastic rolls down the red carpet to centre ice where David Copperfield pulls the Stanley Cup out of Bettmans throat. Don't ask where the Conn Smythe award gets pulled out of though.... and you thought no one wants to touch the Clarence Campbell trophy.
