Lol like who?

First example that came to mind is Blake Coleman, who I think is a bit better player than Armia but he returned a 1st + Nolan Foote (recent 1st) just last year.

Coleman 2019-20 21 + 10 (31 points) in 57 games
Armia 2019-20: 16 + 14 (30 points) in 58 games

Coleman 2020-21: 7 + 10 (17 points) in 37 games
Armia 2020-21: 5 + 5 (10) in 24 games

That's about as dead even as you can get, bruv

Also Bergevin got offers of a 2nd rounder for Kovalchuk last year who is way worse

They wouldn't retain on Iggy when they traded him, so im 100% sure they won't retain on a lesser player for a player who makes roughly the same amount as he does and only recieving a 2nd, Calgary will buy out a player before retaining on their contract, up until they retain on a player in a trade, I'm sticking with the premise they've stated before, they will not pay a player to play for another team.

Fair enough, some good points.

Coleman wasnt a pending UFA so your argument is invalid. That alone makes them not even remotely comparable

Kovalchuk was a top 6 winger last year making less than 1M.

2012... try and choose something a little more recent

Just some recent ones:

Scandella for a 2nd and 4th last year. Habs picked him up for a 4th earlier in the year, and seeing both up close, Armia is a better hockey player.

Brian Boyle in 2019. Armia is better than him.

Thomas Plekanec in 2018. Armia is far better than 2018 version of Plekanec.
