Canada is going to have a tough tourney this year. US takes the opener.

This matchup is as sweet as it gets appetizer for what is to come. I expect an open game both teams scoring a few goals. 6-4 for one or the other.

Just wanna wish everybody here happy holidays, and have a great Christmas.

I know it's going to be a gong show in here with people going back and fourth with prospects/countrys, ETC. But let's not forget why we are on hockey forums to begin with, we love the sport.

This is the best sport in the world, and imo have the best fans in the world, and I am proud to be among them.

Let's hope for a good back and fourth tournament, and a great opening game.

Lets go Canada.:xsign:

Is it unpatriotic to just cheer for our prospects instead of my country

Also, so pumped to see Matthews.

I look forward to seeing people criticize Virtanen and you responding to each and every one with a criticism of another player on the team, ideally one who has been drafted by the team in their avatar.

Looking forward to this game almost as much, should be a good'r.

Let's go Canada, not as confident with this team from what I saw vs Sweden, defence was ugly.

Maybe Canada will win in OT because they stayed longer in Finland to practice the bigger ice. Else I would favor USA slightly.

Where is Chychrun and Nolan Patrick

Chychrun cut and Patrick not invited to camp...both will be on the team next year. I think people are oblivious to the fact that the Americans D is weak after the first pair...they are going to get exploited. Matthews looked pretty average against the Finns in the pre-tournament and I'm sure he'll be seeing a lot of Canada's Crouse-Stephens-Konecny line..going to be tough for him.

Is Chychrun eligible to play for both USA and Canada? Also was Sean Day even invited to camp?

Yes but he has chosen Canada...and no not even a chance..he's not even ranked an A skater for the coming draft...he may drop to the 2nd or 3rd round...I'd be pretty surprised if he's even invited to camp next year.

I think that Dvorak line is the one to worry about...

Don't see Austin Matthews being the big threat he is made out to be, that entire line is still too young.
