That's only for the 2nd buyout window after arbitration.

For example, the Sharks bought out Adam Burish who made 1.85M.

Assuming they roll with a 22 man roster as said in this thread, a buyout saves very little money with Greening. He'd be owed about 4M of 6M on his contract, and then his replacement would eat up the majority of the 2M savings.

That, or they'll roll with a 23 man roster but they value getting his money off the books in 2 years more than in 4 years if he is bought out.

Yeah but logically you spend less money and it's more spread out, and greening can go somewhere else.
