Do we know the severity of Almquist's injury? All I can find is this:

It was one leg he couldn't put weight on at least when he was helped off. I think it was an accident, Almqvist was kinda floating after the whistle and Reinhart had a lot of speed and just skated into him from behind, maybe a little push to brace himself when he saw that they were about to collide.

Who would you have in mind?

A center project with some waiver time left would be my target. He can have had his development stall especially if we keep Blashill. But if Almqvist isn't in the Wings plan I would trade him for something up front for the time being, I also want Smith on the PP, so bringing in a PP specialist that sees Smith farther down there doesn't make me excited, now if they are dumping DK from the PP and trading Kindl it gets more interesting.

The Washington job opening up is kind of scary, I think Blashill would be the perfect hire for them and that is the kind of organization he should leave for in my opinion.

He might be, but I can't see Washington going after yet another inexperienced coach. I really think they'll target Trotz, he coached Washington's AHL affiliate(Baltimore & Portland) for 7 years before he left for Nashville.

so Jurco and Sheahan for game 3 looks like

bad news for Abbotsford, especially since the series will be at best tied at 1

then maybe the Griffins can add Mantha in the second round

Ouellet too, and Callahan is also rumored back for game 3. They're set for a deep run.

Someone on LGW said that Mantha won't be allowed to play because he wasn't on GR's roster during the regular season....don't know if thats true or not.

DeKeyser didn't play for the Griffins in the regular season.

as far as i know there's a special day late in the season that if you're on the roster for it you can play and DeKeyser was on it

but I don't think it applies to guys in junior

I really don't know for sure though

After playing the entire season with Detroit, they aren't going to subject him to playing in the AHL...

I'd be surprised to see any of them other than Ouellet and maybe Jurco join the Griffins.

If you mean DeKeyser, he can't go down. 60 games was his waiver target. He's played 82.

Sheahan and Jurco should go down, though. They did it last year to a lot of success, and it makes sense to do it again this year. More experience for those guys is a good thing. Better than golfing.

I think he can be 40+ point d-man in the NHL given the opportunity.
He's a much better d-man than Kindl, Quincey, Ericsson and Lahoff were with the Griffs and in fact I wouldn't be surprised if he is better than most if not all of them right now.

There is NO way in which Almquist is better than Ericsson right now.

How about Brett Bulmer, I think he still has another season through waivers and has fallen on hard times. The Wild could probably use a D-man. Some of it is establishing which teams could be in on him and scooping something up. I mean if we think Scott Gleanie would pass waivers we could take on that dumpster fire and see if we could rekindle his career in GR. A buy low kind of guy, while giving a team that needs back-end help something, that is if we don't see him as a part of the future.

Have to be honest if he is out through the summer his chances just got dinged quite a bit. I love his ability to pass the puck, but the other concerns still exist and he is being chased by a lot of talent that in Backman, Ouellet and Marchenko are all ready to go in my opinion.

There is also no way that those two players should be compared ever. Can include Quincey to that group too, fills a different role. Kindl and Lashoff on the other hand..
