Really tight checking game. I think if the Sabres can keep playing like this, they'll have success. Game felt like trench warfare.

Yeah they're going to be alright. A bit of a step back after their breakout last year but I believe the talent they've assembled there - and the talent still to come - is the real deal. The Sabres and Devils are the future of the Eastern Conference.

That's what Kevin Bieksa calls a "greasy road win". Get your goal and hunker down. They can't all be Picassos, not every night the team is going to feel their best, sometimes they just want to get the 6th game of a 7 game road trip over with. Steal 2 points and fly off to Columbus like a thief in the night. Don't look back.

Felt like the Sabres seemed to take Miller's hit on Dahlin personally, and after trying to fight Miller (twice), they then started taking runs at Hughes. The team is lucky there were no serious injuries after a few of those late hits.
