Caps were looking for teams to retain salary. Now interesting to see what comes back to CGY.

2015 2nd and 2016 4th. Good deal.

That guy who posted the tweet that Bowey was involved nearly gave me a heart attack. Shades of George McPhee definitely for a moment there.

Praying for a Chris Clark situation.

I would imagine that's it in terms of rentals given our salary structure and remaining picks.

Edit: I thought I had read a 2nd and a 4th. Expensive but also, who really cares?

A second and a third is pretty pricey given what Timonen/Jagr/Bergenheim/Tlusty fetched.

$2.55M cap hit with perhaps Calgary retaining some.

So far in the GMBM era:

2nd rd pick and 3rd rd pick for Glencross
Hillen and 4th rd pick for Gleason
Signed Orpik for 5 years 5.5 million/season
Signed Niskanen for 7 years 5.75 million/season

Overall..... Not that good thus far. I'd say a C.

We are a better team though - but just have acquired a lot of avg players or a little above average players that have cost us a lot in terms of picks and money thus far...

Where is he even supposed to fit in the lineup?

There's a spot on the 2nd line that's been calling him for some time now. I would have liked Cole but Glenx isn't too bad. I've been watching highlights to remind me of what he'll bring to the table and it looks like he has good speed, a good wrist shot and he's great at standing in front of the net for deflections. Just what we need. RMNB is crying over his advanced stats, not surprised.

They are either:

1. Bumping Burakovsky to the fourth line or Hershey
2. Bumping Johansson from 2LW to 1RW/3LW/Trade Bait
3. Bumping Laich off the checking line altogether, in which case either he or Chimera need to go

In any case one of the LWs ought to go for a RW probably.

‏@Real_ESPNLeBrun: FYI that no salary retained in Glencross trade to Washington
