121. My biggest oopses were Sean Hill, Jay Harrison, David Tanabe, and Paul Ranheim.

I sadly only got 1 of the 1 game only club, and that was the eternal Brad Fast. Got 6 of the 2s. My happiest ones to remember were Joey Tetarenko, Damian Surma, Patrick DesRochers (goalie of the future), and Byron Ritchie.

Ohmygosh I forgot him. I loved that guy, he was actually one of my favorite players haha.

That has a lot to do with it for sure, but even if you include the Hartford years there aren't any true lifers other than Staal. The next closest are short-career guys like O'Neill, Burt and Wallin who all finished elsewhere.

In fact, I just realized something. After Eric Staal, the only other player who spent the entirety of a significant career with this franchise was... Chad LaRose. And after him, the next longest exclusive careers are Patrick Dwyer and Jeff Skinner(!).

I think Cam goes somewhere between Eric and either Chad or Paddy (depending on how you count), but otherwise you're right.

And if this post is any indication, it's Paddy's turn to be the board's whipping boy. Eric is currently in that role, Skinner was it last summer, and Rosey is a joke that just won't end. :sarcasm:

I will defend him to the death.

Derp... yeah, he's right in that group too. I didn't look at the goalies.

It's really weird that for a franchise that's been around since the early 1980s, we haven't had a homegrown player who stayed here past the age of 30. Forget lifers, we haven't even produced a half-lifer!

The only exception is Wallin, but he's an odd case since he didn't even start his NHL career till 25.

I wouldn't be surprised at all, especially if he continues to skate 2nd line minutes with Jordan.

Took it again. 143! But not 143 factorial. I remembered Brett Lysak, Allan Rourke, and Bruno St. Jacques.

Tiny one, but Kevin Nastiuk should be on there. He played 2 games as a backup in 2005-2006 I believe. Never played a minute of actual game though. I only remember b/c the one time I got a jersey signed for my Dad I got all of Gerber, Nastiuk, and Ward. Ward was returning from a conditioning assignment in Lowell and Nastiuk was on his way out.

I can't find a link showing that he actually was dressed as backup, but I have living proof that he was at the PNC Arena as I have his autograph.

See this as well: http://benchw.blogspot.com/2013/01/kevin-nastiuk.html

Lysak is a good one. I never remember him. My best was Jakub Petruzalek and Patrick Desrochers, but it looks like a few people got him too.

I think you have to actually appear in a game for it to count as a goaltender.

I swear I have some type of pathological/neurological disorder that makes me incapable of remembering/learning peoples names. This test just confirmed that.

Me and you both. Sad I can remember hockey player names better than I can friends from years ago.

Did we get Hlavac and Boughner from Calgary in a trade for Gelinas? I can't recall.

Boughie I think we signed as a free agent.

Hlavac was part of the Malik trade with Vancouver.

Don't ask me how I remember that stuff a decade later but can't for the life of me recall the name of people I see at my desk on a virtually daily basis.

edit: you're right about Boughner, we got him for some mid-round picks. I was on tour the summer we got him so I wasn't following our trades that closely.

second:

we turned Knyazev (massive bust) and Tanabe into Danny Markov and a 3rd (which we traded of course), and turned that into Justin Williams

Patrick Dwyer has played more games than Ruutu, Whitney, Hedican, Hill, Vasicek, Ward and could pass Kapanen and Francis next year if he plays 25 and 57 games, respectively. Let that sink in.

87. Most embarrassing omissions were battaglia, corvo, sekera and a few other players on this years roster.

Best memory goes to Brian Boucher, only played 10 games for us.

Got a few extra random ones like Samson popping up in the middle of Samsonov, Michael Ryan coming from Ryan Murphy, and just guessing Brown since it was a popular name haha.
