One can only hope
And hopefully we don't wait for next season to make the move and do it in the offseason. He's the non-Quebec Alain Vigneault. Don't hold on too long Drury.

Need an Xs and Os guy. We went after Gallant cause the team went soft and he's everything but that, but without a new coach that will bring a new view to the roster, this team won't be going anywhere.

He’s done here. He would do fine with a strong locker room with players who actually know what it takes, but doesn’t fit with this squad. Won’t miss the boring brand of hockey we’ve been subject to, whoever’s fault that may be.

Need a strong X’s and O’s Coach who plays to the teams strengths because we are stuck with this core unfortunately. No clue who that is but the players will likely tune him out too so not sure it matters much anyway.

Two off days for practice and meetings and no changes made. This is the best we could do. Everyone watching this team sees this team has no grinders on the top 3 lines. Why wouldn’t you get some of those 4 th liners on the top lines to do some of the grinding. Panerin and Kane don’t move at all. He should have told those two don’t even come out for the third period. Shower and go home. That would have sent a message.

Drury should be gone too. He chose gallant. He made the trades. He needs to go.

I'm not happy for someone to get fired and lose their job. But I'm happy people are finally seeing what I've been saying all season. Guy lost me the final game of the ECF last spring. The way he managed that game was inexcusable he should have been fired for it. He lost that series for us. Then he went ahead and made the same terrible decisions all season and never has his team consistently ready to play. He's been badly outclassed this series by Ruff of all people. Though not surprising because Ruff has the same kind of team now built the same way as he had in Buffalo when he was successful with them.

Gallant needs to go.

We need a real frigging coach with real leadership qualities. Someone respected, feared, and someone players will go through a wall for.

We need a systems coach. That is where the league is heading. That is what the top trams have.

Gallant doesnt even try to hide the fact that he has no system. He basically said he is not an x and o’s guy…. But you now need one to succeed.

Bruins, devils, canes, tampa, colorado all have strict systems and all the players buy in, and know exactly what to do.

Hell the isles had it under trotz and did very well for a spell there too.

Gallant is 100% part of the problem with letting the players dictate and being a “players coach”. It all adds to a country club atmosphere

I am always someone who tries hard to not just blame the HC, but I am not sure how you don’t. When Ruff makes adjustments after being down 2-0 and then us in G3 back at MSG, taking the foot off the gas pedal. Then the abomination of an effort in G4 and last night. How is that not on the HC?

Gotta agree with many of you. His main job after the trade deadline was to create chemistry in his lines but he was so inflexible he would not change his bottom 6. Dumb dumb dumb.

So ya time to move on from him.

ironically Trotz was that guy with this team. Similar to isles teams if not perhaps more skillful and less physical, but that system with higher end skill would probably be the way to go but alas that ship has sailed.
