The only of the pre-4 Resident Evils I've played is REmake, which I got stuck in at one point and just never came to it. Its on my list of games to beat though.

Personally RE2 (2019) is in my top 5 games of all time, I've played through it many times and got all the achievements. One of the games that made me fall back in love with games in 2020 after a few years away.
I think the original is definitely worth a shot if you have the time. The original especially put a huge focus on ammo conservation. I lost count of how many times i had to tear down hallways with a knife and an empty handgun

2 was the first one i played, so I’d say it’s my favorite.

God of War.

About 2 hours in and its Meh so far maybe short selling it a bit but its not blowing me away. Reminds me of another generic/ solid RPG Sony puts out regularly.

Yes it's a free update. And there are a bunch of others also like the Pitt.

The game runs more smoothly than I remember. It's now a community as when you encounter another player who's at a higher level, they usually ask if you need help or drop items like plans, recipes, stimpaks, etc. No one is trying to kill you.

Feels more like FO4.
I enjoyed it for a while playing solo/without PVP. Got to the point that I liked my guns and armor, but really only had the Nuke quest left to do, and it was just so hard to do solo without feeling like it was a loss (due to the ammo used & damage to repair soloing that mission). I did like giving new players some crafted weapons and armor when they stopped by my shed though.

Thanks for this, will give it another shot and see if the updates add more play for me.

I could never do the nuke mission by myself either. But I found I guy willing to help (thanks Rokkrvvolf) for some quests and achievements like the Tadpole and Something Sentimental side quests. For the latter, you need to nuke Monongah Mine to trigger an event to complete de quest. So we did the nuke quest together and we succeeded! His weapon was so powerful!

Anyway the nuke mission just triggers events like the Scorched Earth (one of the achievements) and you just need to get to the location when someone nukes south of the Cranberry Bog region.

I've been playing through AC: Syndicate. It's okay. I mostly have been focused on taking over boroughs for my gang and collecting chests and such rather than the actual main story.

Assassin's Creed games are fun gameplay-wise, but at some point I was just over the whole narrative and formula of it all. Templar conspiracy, hunting for some magic apple or shroud that explains the universe, missions that are 80% tailing someone, janky controls, and the really dumb modern-day framing device.

My favorites were the ones you could sail (Black flag being the best).

Eh, God of War felt really generic to me with a pretty coat of paint. The game never really gets better until you get the original God of War weapon but that's like half way through the game and then when you start having fun with them, it gets pretty stale again after an hour or so.

Yeah I’m kinda getting this vibe from it as well. Like I said in my original post it’s another solid RPG/ SP game pushed out by Sony Interactive.

Platinumed Red Dead Redemption Remastered on PS5. 4k 60 fps is really awesome in this game. Has to be my 9th or 10th 100% run on RDR. f***ing Chupacabra though, looked for it for nearly 3 hours until it finally spawned.

Bought Pokemon Scarlet the other day, going to start it today.

As @Frankie Spankie said, it gets better when you get another weapon. They could have given it to you much sooner IMO. There are narrative reasons they didn't, but it made the combat rather repetitive. But looking back on it, I agree it's nothing more than a typical Sony action-adventure game, although probably on the higher end of that group.

However, I think GoW: Ragnarok is an improvement on the 2018 game in every way, but most notably the enemy variety, boss variety, and weapon options. I think it's worth the time, but I don't think you can/should play it without playing the first one.

Im only 6 hours in but i can see myself playing Ragnarok once it comes to PC. The Steam reviews make it out to be this genre defining video game and it isnt. So far its a good not great game and i was expecting great.

Yeah, I get it. I think it got overhyped because they made big, bold, drastic changes to the franchise and were relatively successful doing so.

I don't want to overhype Ragnarok either. It is very much a continuation, but it's just a vastly superior game in every way. I don't know if it transcends the Sony action-adventure category, but unless FromSoft counts, it's the best of the bunch that I've played.

I started the Battlefront II (2017) campaign this morning and found my true purpose and destiny as a Rebel scum-killing Imperial solder. Now, the campaign has moved on to me playing that goody two shoes Luke Skywalker. :thumbd:

Having a hell of a time coming to grips with Sub Zero in MK1. Im so used to having a ton of great low attack options with Reptile, while Sub Zero has like, 4 normals that hit low.

I like Hell let loose too but i cant play a match that takes 1 and a half hour.
Been playing this as well recently. I enjoy it. It suffers from poor optimization but overall its a good game as well and has been my "online" game ive been playing recently. About 70 hours in and find myself playing it a little less.

about a month into Diablo 4. Still not sure if I like it.
IMO its another good not great game. It gets a lot of hate because its a blizzard game. I played the ish outta it when it first released but cant see myself really going back unless there a big lull in games for me.

Finished God of War today.

Feel like im parroting this but its how i feel that it was a good not great game. I was a little let down but thats on me and my expectations on it.

Story, voice acting, character development, graphics were all pretty dang good. Even if the graphics were colorful and aimed towards kids more so.

The reskinned enemies were boring, and it seemed like there wasnt that much of a diversity in it. Combat was meh, pretty brain dead if you ask me. Cant really think of other things that i didnt like about it right now.

I will play the sequel when it comes to PC but its not like im super stoked for it to come out.

The reskinned enemies definitely made the game feel like a drag. I remember every enemy only had one execution animation too so if you wanted to finish them off quicker with executions, you watch the same damn animation over and over and over.

I'm not getting Ragnarok whenever it comes to PC, I don't care enough about it. Only God of War I would get is if they ever ported the original games over to PC.

Persona 5: Royal (Switch)

About 75 hours in, just beat Shido's palace. Love 95% of the game but the 5% I hate is a little lame; the
Hawaii trip where nothing really happens
, the game putting you on rails for a lot of the time, how hard it is to raise certain attributes and the excessive stylization, which - while it mostly works - can sometimes get out of hand.

I know I have a few left so Palace ranking:

1. Kaneshiro (Bank) - Loved the bank puzzle, and had great music and a cool boss fight.

2. Futaba (Pyramid) - Excellent music and aesthetic but a little bit of a lame boss fight.

==

3. Kamoshida (Palace) - Ominous and Japan pervy, great music and a very good boss fight but a little on the long side.

4. Shido (Boat) - I thought this one was pretty cool, the mouse puzzles weren't that bad and you only had to do them a few times, loved going outside and loved every party member contributing and especially loved the sub boss and boss fights.

5. Madarame (Art Gallery) - Best looking palace in the game with excellent puzzles with the painting, about the perfect length but okay music and a boss fight that drags.

==

6. Sae (Casino) - Many people consider this one the best but I thought it was only okay. Nice having an extra team member and the music was great but that was a weak boss fight, lots of back-tracking and puzzle-wise nothing stood out. I do like where the story goes after this level.

==

7. Okamura (space station) - I liked the outer space theme and music but f*** that last puzzle and especially f*** the boss. It was also way too long.

Companion Rankings:

S: Ryuji, Makoto (romanced)
A: Ann ,
Goro
B: Yusuke, Morgana, Futaba
Oh yeah, she's there: Haru

S class are both deep characters and beasts in battle. Ann is a nice little character but a little one dimensional and both her and the mystery character are huge in battle.

Yusuke and Haru - you can get personas who are stronger than they are fairly early, Yusuke is a little interesting even if his whole bit is ‘art art art’ and Haru was plain added too late. Futaba is a support character and Morgana is kind of annoying and can’t do anything Ann can’t.

A little Personad out, lucky I'm taking a small trip and will finish the two palaces I have left when I get back.
