So just like the Chicago game, if we lose this one we'll look back on that terrible 5 on 3 and wonder what went wrong.

Watching the Islanders broadcast is like being in bizarro land where the team is openly criticized and players admit when they come out flat. It's great.

TBH I didn't think we played all that "fast" in comparison to past games in the first. They did much more intermediate length passes up ice and it was pretty rare the isles even gained the zone so there wasn't much time spent skating 200ft. Plus all the PP time.

Hard to play fast on the PK. Also, the Islanders came out with a lot more jump. Game is still tied. So... progress!

I honestly don't think a lot of these guys had any idea of what game shape actually meant. We're not used to competing and trying to set a pace. We've been a reactionary, "we suck anyway, why leave it all on the ice" club for quite awhile. It'll be interesting to see how their conditioning progresses over the next couple of months.
