That's not the full context of what he said. he also said this:

“We’re not one of those top, top teams that’s willing to give up… first round picks and top prospects to get in on some of those rental players,” Steve Yzerman said.

if the Wings were poised to make a deep Cup run I doubt he sits on his hands and says he likes the Grand Rapids depth. Where the team is now it doesn't make sense to give up assets for a rental. That doesn't mean he promised to call up multiple players from Grand Rapids. They're there if they want to call them up.

He's got a hard on for Perron and Czarnik. Two players not deserving of playing time. Same shit we saw with Babcock and Blashill when they overplayed their favorites.

Every coach does that stuff, you'll never get away from it.

The consistent lack of anything resembling competent team defense, on the other hand... much more concerning.

I just watched the whole game. We had some kind if small momentum in the 3rd and then Perron takes the penalty. It kills the momentum and they score on the PP.
That cross check on Raymond was as clear penalty as you will ever see. Why didn't Lalonde go crazy there and complain to the refs? There was another situation where Raymond was crosschecked or roughed up. On the other hand they called Chiarot for crosscheck.
The league is back to its bad officiating and the coach has to prepare the team to it. You have to cheat a little bit.
Larkin, Copp and Compher scored. But our wingers are completely invisible. Kane, DeBrincat, Raymond, Perron and Fabbri have to step up and contribute.
Home game after a road trip is a scheduled loss and this was a good team. We played well and deserved a point.
Petry had another strong game and Edvidson looks real good.

All in all the team played very good/great vs cats, bolts and rangers. It will be interesting to see if they have enough left in the tank for the last 6 games.

honestly because he never takes them it didn't even occur to me.

All the anger about Veleno being out there at the end of the game should've been directed at lalonde not using his timeout to rest guys so they could go back out.
