My gut says Hanzal will be suspended. Here's why:

1. Benn was injured
2. Player history; previous suspension.
3. Borderline late.
4. Head Contact.
5. Unsuspecting.
6. Hanzal is not a superstar playing in the Eastern Conf.

National Hockey League rules prohibit "a lateral, back-pressure or blind-side hit to an opponent where the head is targeted and/or the principal point of contact." (remember Doan's suspension)

While I don't believe he intentionally targeted the head, Hanzal's right shoulder clearly makes contact with Benn's noggin.

Sometimes it's good to be wrong.

Very good crowds this year. Started off rocky but I think season ticket holders are enjoying their purchases.

True. I've attended maybe 6 games so far, all of them week nights, and even the worst crowds made it a fun atmosphere. I don't think I went to a game with less than 10K in attendance this season, and that's enough to make the building rock during a good game.

Although all those metrics and comparisons are heavily weighted by the fact that we skipped the worst part of the season (October to January) and jumped in right when snowbirds are here, spring training, no football, and a terrible Suns team. All of that helps I'm sure.

How long will it take for Shanahan to make a decision on Hanzal?
Would be great to know if he plays vs Kings or not.
