Bourque is a good guy to have on a 4th line. He brings speed, tenacity, and PKing. Ghetto is a good player, but he's the odd man out in the top 9 and frankly I'd rather have Bourque on the 4th than a skill player.

As for Yak, I'm fine with him being used as a 4th line PP specialist. Think of him as a younger Iginla with a better shot for 20% of the cost.

One of Yak/Ghetto should probably sit most games. Having to major liabilities out there in the bottom six is a risk. Play the hot hand as a PP specialist.

First dallas game without Matt to go ape on them...hopefully the top line can continue the tradition of lighting up the Stars.

Some fans want a 1st rounder for Sven... next week he's a healthy scratch lol.

He's a healthy scratch to keep him from getting hurt before the trade for Edmonton's 1st round pick...

I read that the PK is even better with Bourque in, and the Stars have either the best or 2nd-best power play. So by that rationale, it makes sense. Still don't love this move and I really wish he'd break up that Wilson-Kerfoot-Compher line. It doesn't work.
Theyre worse with Bourque in the lineup but the Avs aren't a good PK team in general.

I haven't liked Ghettos game since being dropped from the top but by no means should Bourque be playing ahead of him. Maybe hes slacking off at practice or something who knows. By all accounts that line seemed to do well in Detroit. Maybe Ghetto gets traded tonight?

I don't think Andrighetto has been robbing us on effort but at the same time he's just kinda being there. Not a big plus. Not a big minus.

Don't expect much more of Bork, but I guess he can get hit by pucks on the PK.

Considering what we're paying for Sven and what he's done so far as an Av, he's been great. However I don't really see him as a long term piece, kind of see him in a Parenteau way.

100% agree. He will put up good numbers on bad teams, but never a player you want on a good team. He fits a role on this team right now and can be a really good stopgap for a couple years. Eventually, you want a couple players to push him out. I wouldn't trade him real easily right now, but if Greer, Jost, Compher, Kerfoot (who might be similar to Ghetto in the end), etc all start panning out in 2nd/3rd line situations... by all means move him to capitalize on his value.

Agreed with everything until then...

I can see it. But I'm really anxious to see how Kerfoot does as teams adjust to him and start to cheat on the pass against him. Will he still be effective when those passing lanes close down?

Well I mean he's got 7 goals, tied for second on the team. He's not all pass.

Kerfoot could always prove me wrong, but I can’t see him being a #2C on a contender.

I can't see it either, but a winger? I could.

I don't mind the occasional scratch for Ghetto/Yakupov. Bourque has terrible hands and limited offensive skill but he can serve a purpose when he's on his game. He's very good on the forecheck and can kill penalties.

He’s had opportunistic goals more than anything else. Credit to him, he has gotten them. I just don’t see that at his game.

I could too, but as a center I don’t see it. As a winger it is still a maybe. Hence why might be. A pretty decent chance he ends up a guy who isn’t ideal on a contender.

Yeah, I mean it's possible for sure. But he has great IQ, great hands, I could see him being a solid 2nd line winger.

I’d say Ghetto has better hands and a lot better shot, but isn’t as smart. The difference isn’t that much between them. How Kerfoot adapts later will determine where he slides.
