I'm not so sure its the sense of urgency that was lacking... I think it was the urgency that made the Leafs play so poorly (Coughing up the puck, getting out of position, etc).
Once they got hemmed in their zone, they stopped skating, I agree... but I think the Leafs need to be more technically sound... make those crisp passes, and play their game... speed and physical. We missed the speed last night.
That whole transition that lead to the second GA could've been easily avoided had JVR not decided to ignore the puck and go for the interference/hit. And wtf were they thinking, changing one of the players while going on the back check ON THE PK, I'm not going to fault him on this one but JVR was so lost as to who to cover because of that.A lineup change is definitely needed. Sit McLaren, put in Frattin, have a Lupul-Kadri-Frattin line, that should be a solid line since both Lupul and Frattin are strong guys who can go fish for the puck and Kadri is good at carrying the puck and passing it off. Keep the first line the same, they'll be fine especially since JvR was not in beast mode. The third line, M-G-K. If Grabo continues to play the way he did last night, good things will happen for that line.
And the fourth line, Komarov-McClement-Orr is solid and can get the job done.
Take out Kostka, put in O'Byrne or even Gardiner. Keep Fraser as the #6 guy and don't play him more than 15 minutes, increase the minutes for Liles, Gunnarsson and Phaneuf.
