Rossi spends way too much time stretching and not lifting weights to have gotten hurt on that play. I call BS

Hynes might have benched Freddy in favor of Rossi, no?

The wookie trips the rookie.

See Merril, Brodin didn’t really have a shot either, but he let it go. You should try that next time you are in close and get a puck fed to you….

Six points out of playoff spot.....lose in Nashville, and Billy will probably start selling. It just drives me bat@#$! crazy that we have money tied up in hollow contracts. Freddy's is a killer, and Foligno's hasn't even kicked in yet. The wrong guys may have to be moved because of it.

This is what happens when you let a guy who can barely spell his own name run a team bc “he played in the league”

Good to see Rossi back up on the second line in the third period, and that line with Rossi was generating chances, go figure.

Rossi should be on the second line, but I have this fear of Hynes trying to fix things further by breaking up the top line.

It's a double edged sword because when that top line is on that night they can easily win games on their own (as they've shown in this recent stretch), but when they don't score we have no other scoring (apart from Brodin apparently).

I don't mind if they break up the top line again because we legit have no secondary scoring as is, but if they do, I would personally put Rossi with Kaprizov and Ek with Boldy, and then figure out the rest from there.

I dream of the day that Yurov, Heidt, Ohgren, Khusnutdinov and Rossi can provide enough secondary scoring to keep BEEK together.

If they break that top line up, Zucc needs to stay on the 2nd line. Kap/Zucc hasn't worked 5v5 since last year. It's a dead end black hole that actually makes Kap go back into a shell. They can play together on the PP, but Hynes needs to keep them separated and find other solutions 5 on 5.

Somewhere in time
It‘s time for Hynes to pull through on what he has been doing anyway on the ice: put 65% of the responsibility on the first line, put the „best of the rest“ on a second line that hopefully manages 25% of your scoring and distribute the rest of the team on two lines that occasionally get lucky and don’t get hemmed in their own zone. For me that would mean:

Kap-Ek-Boldy
Hartman-Rossi-Zucc
Johansson-Dewar-Duhaime
L-FreddyG-L

Then you can legitimately reduce 4th line minutes as you wish, have fresh PKers and I really think Hartman and Rossi could be really good together with Zuccarello. Only fit I don’t really like is Johansson on the energy line but what can you do? Make it so Coach!

What I wanna see with the current roster:

Kap-Ek-Johansson
Hartman-Rossi-Boldy
L-Dewar-Zucc
Duhaime-FreddyG-L

Last chance for Johansson, playing with our best players: Do or die. I like the idea of playing two finisher alongside a playmaker (Rossi). Zucc plays limited 5vs5 time on the 3rd line but remains on the top PP Unit as specialist. 4th line gets 2 shifts a period, when the other lines are tired.
