I think we should move on from PDG. He brings nothing to the game we need. I really don't like that our 4th line produces nothing. I think we need more determined and physical players. I think Teräväinen is a part of the floating problem too but he clicks well with Aho so I'd probably keep him. I wouldn't trade Skinner - he's problem is trying too hard and it will fix itself sooner or later.

We should ice these forwards:

Aho - Staal - Teräväinen
Skinner - Lindholm -Williams
Rask - Ryan - Stempniak
McGinn - Kruger - Foegele

I'd like to see trades that would lead to something like this:

Aho - Staal - Teräväinen
Skinner - X - Lindholm
X - Wallmark - Williams
McGinn - Ryan - Foegele

After 300 games as a coach, Peters is almost exactly a .500 coach. The epitome of mediocrity. Definition of this organization's history with coaches. Only Laviolette sniffed better than average results before coming to CAR. Maurice, Mueller, Peters? Collectively also right about .500

We need a coach who knows how to WIN.

Yes I am now on the get rid of peters train. It's not all his fault but a change needs to get made. Something anything just don't keep trotting these losers out and trying to pretend they're anything but that

What did he say?

He was on Peters too.

Carolina Hurricanes take one step forward, fall one point back Carolina Hurricanes take one step forward, fall one point back

“But Peters said he was happy with what he called a “real good” effort that saw the Hurricanes muster a pathetic two shots on goal in a third period when both teams sat back and played for the guaranteed loser point. It's one thing for the Flyers to do that on the road. To be that passive at home, in the desperate straits this team is in, was an inadvertent and ironic mirror of Ron Francis' management style.”

“The impasse raises interesting questions about the relationship between Peters and Francis at this point. Peters demanded changes and mentioned there were some young players tearing it up in the AHL. (There are.) But there were no roster changes of any kind and Peters seemed resigned to that fate Monday. (If Josh Jooris couldn't get into the lineup under these circumstances, what's the point in not putting him on waivers and getting a look at someone in Charlotte?) If Peters was trying to send a message to his general manager Sunday, the message came back stamped “return to sender.” If they're on the same page, then Peters was full of phony bluster. Something's off here.”

Yeah, I couldn't tell if he was more dumping on Peters or Francis or both. At the end of the day, they both aren't getting it done. The only thing I don't know, is how much of what Francis has done was being on a leash from Karmanos (money wise) vs. just being very, very patient. Hopefully, we find out this offseason.

I know not everyone agrees, but I don't think bringing up a couple guys from Charlotte accomplishes much, if anything at all. Zykov looks to be terrible at even strength and I question if he can skate well enough to play in the NHL. Would Wallmark be any better than Ryan or Rask or Lindholm? When I've seen him he looks like a poor man's Rask to me. Foegele could probably help on the 4th line, but is that going to have much, if any impact on the outcome? The guys we got at the NHL level are the guys we got and that likely wasn't changing between the SJ game and this game (and unless they go on a run, likely won't until the off season).

I wouldn't have a problem with calling some of those guys up from the AHL, just don't see it as a big deal that they aren't. When your "best" players aren't producing, bringing up much lesser players doesn't move the needle much.

I don’t think Peters “needs to go”, but I do think that will be the logical outcome of this homestand. Francis has only so many cards in his deck, and it doesn’t look like he’ll have a chance to make a game-changing trade this season due to lack of inventory on the market.

With Dundon raising the pressure on him, fans and media on the verge of breaking out pitchforks, Peters taking shots at him in the media, and there still being a glimmer of hope that we could surge to the playoffs, I think we’ve reached the point where a coaching change makes more sense than any of his other options.

I'm not sure how much of the comments from Peters are "shots" though. We like to read it that way, but every coach says things like Peters says. Heck, 2 weeks ago Babcock said essentially the same thing as Peters, that it's his job to get the team to play well enough to force Lou's hand to make a deal. It's what coaches do.

Regarding the rearrange deck chairs, I guess that could be construed that way, but it also could be read as a statement regarding his team better give better effort, or it doesn't matter who is in the line-up.
