Vatrano struggles in the NHL because of his hockey sense. He's just not a smart player at this level and that holds him back severely.

do you? you think crash and burning means that you can skate? His east-west skating is some of the worst skating I have seen

He can't skate backwards very well

He also has a low IQ. Doesn't know how to pass. Only is trigger happy

Aren't you also big on Nash? Where has he been in the last 5-7 games... he is streaky and not talented enough to be a 3rd line center. Should be dropped to the 4th line already

I've been more critical of Riley Nash than any poster on this board. By a mile, not even close.

Is Vatrano a great skater? No one is saying that. And yes, his straight ahead speed is his best skating trait.

But he isn't a bad skater like you are suggesting.

It doesn't matter. He would have been benched in the third anyways
