Um we buy Bob out after year 5 when Spencer is due for an extension? Really not ground breaking at all. Spencer signed because Bob does absolutely 0 to block his path.
Even if that happens where is there no incentive for him to sign? You think he’d rather wait two more years to sign an entry level deal with another team and wait another 3 years after that to get a bigger deal. Spencer made the best choice on the table. It’s actually a simple decision.Theyll pay ~6.666per year to have him not play? That’s a ~3.333 savings in a likely still flat cap..... your prediction is 3 years away and flat cap is expected for “next few years for sure”
And then Bob is gone already. So I’m not getting your point. Spencer moves in as the franchise goalie by 23.That wouldn't help much.
Fortunately almost every goalie goes ELC>Bridge>Long-term, so there will only be a year or two of high AAV overlap.
So I think this burns a year because he will be 20 by September 15th 2021 correct?
Same fella that beat yall have up at WJC. Oh wait we own the Canadian goalie also. Ha!Theyll pay ~6.666per year to have him not play? That’s a ~3.333 savings in a likely still flat cap..... your prediction is 3 years away and flat cap is expected for “next few years for sure”
Bob’s buyout after year 5 is 6.67 mil for 2 years and 1.67 mil for 2 years after that. If the year after 6.67 for 1 year and 1.67 for one. Not out of the realm of possibilities.Theyll pay ~6.666per year to have him not play? Surprised he signed. Bob is locked in long term at big money. Not looking like a financially promising future. Bob makes 10, how much more can a team really pay for goaltending

If the contract starts in 2020-21 then yes. Last I looked hadn’t seen an official confirmation yet that it is actually for 2020-21 rather then 2021-22.
Edit: confirmed now it starts in 2020-21.
It's different for college players. Also, it was part of his signing demands.I read somewhere that he already burned 1 year of ELC by playing 1 game. Didn't they say before the season that you have to play 6 or 7 games this season to burn 1 year of ELC?

Oh Jesus what is this in reference to XDI expect him to spend a lot of time in the AHL, Hart is showing that it isn't necessarily easy for goalers to go through development without any sleeping policeman incidences.
