Despite sooooo many soul crushing losses over 40 plus years, most of them have faded from my old memory banks. But the one that stands out for me was the first Ovi Penguins game 7, in DC, 2009 I think. Caps came from down 3-2 to force game 7 at home. Ovi has a breakaway to give them a 1-0 lead and that place would erupt. Ovi dents the goalie, doesn't score, Pens go on to an easy 6-2 win. Thats when I started to think, maybe this team just doesn't have what it takes. The Montreal series the next year cemented that feeling. It remained until last June.
