I guess I am cheering for Vegas for round 1 in this matchup..
2025 2nd is better than a 2024 3rd and the potential 2026 3rd in the unlikely event Dallas gets to the SCF

Vegas wins we lose a 2024 3rd and gain a 2025 2nd, Dallas reaches the SCF and we gain a 3rd in 2026... 2024 3rd and 2026 3rd for 2025 2nd is probably not far off for trade value. That said, it is better for us if VGK wins, because it guarantees the 2nd rounder, while Dallas winning doesn't guarantee the 3rd rounder.

I wonder what kind of interest other teams may have if we swing a trade early with one of those picks as a centre piece. "Choose one of these two picks for the trade of your player"... which do you think has the higher possibility?

I think it's because a team can only jump 10 spots so we get bumped down one, or something along those lines

So Philly could only move up 10, giving them 2nd pick. Flames winning the 2nd draw gives them the 3rd pick.

As a long time Flames fan I could totally see getting boned like this too.

It's surprising how easy it is to have the Flames pick #1.

I wish you had hit it on the 6th spin. Then I'd have more optimism that the hockey gods are hinting at something good for us. We've had good hits at 6OA and 6th rounders, that's why.
