Carolina is 5 pts behind them with 2 games in hand. Rangers 8 with 2 games in hand.

I guess we're big Canes and Rags fans for the time being... though I'm more than fine with two lottery picks at all

*and fine, I don't mean I'm happy the Islanders suck. I'm fine given the circumstances that the Islanders suck. I know I'd be called out on it if I didn't clarify LOL
Yeah, Carolina absolutely can catch Calgary. Doubtful NYR catch them, but not impossible.

Theoretically, we could finish with the third highest odds to win first overall... though a lot of things need to happen for that

I want to see Brock hit 20 so we can try dump him in the summer and although it's just a number saying he is a 4 time 20 goal scorer I do think makes him that much more marketable then a 3 time 20 goal scorer with 19 this year

All I can say is thank the hockey gods for Peter Chiarelli. McDavid is a monster. Barzal with McDavid would have been absolutely ridiculous and unfair.

Barzal with Tavares should be "ridiculous and unfair." Unfortunately there's more than one GM who can mess up a team even with elite talent.

Right now we have a little better odds then Detroit at finishing at 2 or 3 with the same odds as 1oa who is at 5.

Right now totals are....

8.5% at 1st
9.0% for 2nd
9.6% for 3rd

It's so weird that Buffalo is only 50/50 to pick in the top 3

Uwe Krupp...Scott Scissions...Jaromir Jagr

You’re messing with me right? Did you really just miss the central point of my post?

You do understand that I’m not calling for or expecting the Isles to make the playoffs? And you do know that It’s a lottery?

With this particular format you can actually end up with a worse pick by finishing lower. It’s not like Buffalo when they had the worst record in the McDavid draft and we’re guaranteed Eichel at minimum.

Backstory on Jagr draft: Recent report is that he would only come over if he could play with Lemieux. Also, problem was not missing Jagr, as much as not identifying and hitting on hall-of-fame talent still available... Brodeur, Tkachuck, Hatcher etc.

1. You can't blame a team who picks 6 for not picking guys who are picked like 17th and 18th in the draft, Hatcher would be fair game.

2. Scissons pick I think gets wrongly panned. Simple fact is it was a case more of bad luck given Scissons injury troubles
