He may not be biased. Michigan and Wisconsin don’t really have a traditional rivalry, neither sports or non- sports.

Michigan and Ohio do as does Wisconsin and Illinois.
He and some Michigan coworkers definitely have a friendly rivalry. Plus I once mistakenly though he was from Mich and you would have thought I kicked a puppy...could just be him though lol

Gotcha. I’m sure there’s some rivalry among some. The two states have different economies, the biggest sports rivalry of Michigan is OSU(albeit, a one sided rivalry these days), the Packers biggest rivalry is the Bears and Wisconsin residents have done pretty derogatory terms for Illinois residents.

Pistons/Bucks aren’t really traditional rivals, neither are Brewers and Tigers. Tigers fans hate Cleveland and even the white Sox more. Brewers used to hate the twins but now Cubs are their biggest rival. Etc

One of my parents is from MI, the other from WI. I’ve lived in both states and my siblings currently live in those two states as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. like I said, I’m sure there’s some rivalry, just seems to me it takes a second seat to the other states.

Maybe if the Lions were ever any good, a rivalry would develop.

When they came to the Ellis Island they told they want the best lake you got.
mining companies recruited Finns to work in the mines because they had heard the Finns were hard workers in mines in Norway. I believe there were almost 100,000 Finns residing in the area at the peak of mining in that area.

100,000 may not seem like a lot, but that area probably has a population of only 300,000 today.

Can confirm, one of the hospitals i do remote support for is in the booming metropolis of Houghton, about half the names i come across from tickets from there are names like Jokinen, Ruotsala, etc.

If I am an NHL agent, I'd be like f*** your family and f*** your fianceé, I gotta eat too and Colorado would pay 500k more. They got weed there, man! Weed!

weed < meth. c'mon now!

but this made me curious...is there a Tiger King or meth problem equivalent in Finland?

so mining companies thought Finns were all dwarves?

So if Finland has all the dwarves
Iceland the elves as evidenced here:
Where are all the gnomes?

Well. Actually... a person with ties to a media company tried luring certain people close to me, including me, to an explicity Tiger Kingesque truecrime-ish production idea, which she would then have pushed for the company. We didn't go along.

As the sewer water analysises go, Helsinki is a very profilic East European type of meth capital. Though, if our press media headlines are to be believed, "crystal drug" is really for the better class of people after a beloved tango schlager singer was caught and convicted as a meth user and his very affluent pusher got simultaneously lot of press in a kiddy porn ring.
