for those questioning his leadership abilities, i think it's worth noting that Perry captained the 2016 gold-winning world hockey championship team featuring connor mcdavid and cody ceci (Rosters). i recall a lot of positive stories about his leadership at the time. Don't want to overstate a WC team, but worth mentioning.

If rosters are expanded, and if the Sens are not shy to sit a guy like Perry, Galchenyuk or Anisimov to let young guys play, then I don't mind if they sign Perry on a 1 year deal.
