My thoughts exactly .. rest up Matty and Rielly so they don't play in Florida .. i think I would do it even if Matty at 69 but he may choose to play to get 70 .. it is a tough one .. i don't care about 70 so i would encourage him to shut it down as if he lose him then we are finished in playoffs
The team shouldn't let him make the decision. Risking injury is not worth hitting an arbitrary round number of goals just because it sounds good.
Agreed, prioritize the playoffs, those goals are amazing but we already know he's capable of hitting 70. We need to leave a ton of gas in the tank for later. Can't waste gas in this economy

Agree with you wholeheartedly. Marner will most likely p;ay just because he missed so many games to shake off the rust
Is that saying that home ice is important, or that the higher seed wins more often than not? Is that rounds or overall win%?
You should absolutely have your franchise center have a say in whether he plays or not this is his team. Yeah injuries are a concern but they are just as likely to happen 2 minutes into game 1 than in the tune up games.
Tavares is the guy that needs the rest the most. You can dial Matty and Rielly's ice time down. Anybody missing the Florida games will not have played in a week going into game #1. Rust vs rest.
IT's not a big deal in the interviews with the player (in my opinion of his interviews) but, it seems to be a thing with his team mates. So yes play him. It's good for team moral.
