Dune part 2, apparently the Devil’s game was a worse slaughter

Who was in goal for us ?
Daws started again

And was pulled again

And Schmid allowed zero goals in relief…….again.

And why do I have the feeling that Daws will start on Tuesday……..again?

I wonder if Vanacek had some legit mental breakdown and I’m not even being facetious. He’s been out forever with what was a supposed minor injury. He can stay away for all I care. It’s just a mysterious situation.
They also were really confusing with his diagnosis. First it was illness then lower body injury. Then Stein said he could possibly join the team on the West trip then zero mention of him since.

Well he isn’t the first player who the team said had a minor injury and then was out awhile. That’s standard operating procedure for the team.

The only way he probably doesn't is if Lindy is gone by Tuesday.

It's one of the things that pisses me off to no end with him. Kids either get extremely sheltered like Holtz or run into the ground like Luke and Daws.

You will have your work cut out for you with one in the DC area one in Alabama and one in Florida but thanks for making them dinner. With you having to cover so much ground I’ll take care of feeding the dogs here.

Thanks that helped. Your one son didn’t prefer pork, the other didn’t like my Mac and cheese recipe; and the one in Florida was okay with the vegetables because he used the stoneware tray to beat a meth head Florida man and prevent him from breaking in to “GIT DA GATER” whatever that meant

But overall successful and I’m super glad I have the transporter

Nosek is one of the most useless non-AHL call up plugs I can remember since Tuomo Ruutu's last season here.

Kevin Rooney would be better. No bullshit.

Nosek may have been alright if he didn't get injured a couple of times at the start of the season, but he's been about as useful as the skeleton that sunk to the bottom of the ocean in that meme around here.

I’m disappointed in Nosek. He’s useless. Seriously useless. Slow, confused. I thought he would be an upgrade but it turns out he’s a significant boat anchor

And yet if Vitek weren't injured he probably would have been running him like this and Daws would hardly play.

He did let Daws get an extended run in January, but with the way the season has gone now? He would be running Vitek out there every game out of desperation,

Which is exactly what I think him getting that start against Carolina after the horrible Calgary game was all about.

Get this bozo away from our players before he ruins them

Ruff’s lineups make you wonder if he realizes guys are less effective if hurt or worn down.

Too often the Devils are playing guys hurt even when they play poorly doing it or running with goalies until they’re just exhausted.

Look. Team played ok, not great but on the road versus a pretty good team.

And lost badly because our goalies suck ass and our coach sucks ass.

Re: Goalie situation, they may have to fire Marty in the offseason as well. He probably has his hands most on the goalie situation since he joined the front office and it has been an abject disaster.

Marino had a defensive career year last year, every bounce went his way. great stick and positioning everywhere. we were sucked into thinking he was a steady 1st pairing.. i still like the player but we need a stud 1st to match with nemec

Hmm, interesting take. I think they just have to stop listening to him as the end all be all opinion, yeah he knows a ton about goalies but he was one of the most unique players in history + game's passed him by. The game is completely different than when Marty played even when he played his last game in 2015. It's the equivalent of taking what Mark Messier said to a tee if you were looking for a playoff forward.

I'd softly put him on the trade block but I think everyone who isn't an untouchable + Timo can be traded in my mind for the most part if the right offer comes along.

Schmid not playing is a joke at this point. He's been up for what, 3 weeks now? Ruff certainly has guys he doesn't trust, which is fine, but the guys he does trust have done NOTHING warrant it at this point. Holtz plays like 7-9 mins a night and has been fine. Guys like play 10 mins more and make way more mistakes. Schmid stopped every shot he faced when he came in against Anaheim and they go back to Daws who promptly gets lit up again. It just laughable at this point. I hate being a fan of this team because we're stuck in the circle of bullshit for going on 20 years at this point where it's one step forward three steps back.

At the very least the ENTIRE coaching staff, including Rogalski need to be given a pink slip and a few turnpike tokens for the ride home.

When Marty joined he specifically did not want to have any input into the on-ice stuff.

He’s been promoted since so I assume he is in the group making decisions that affect on-ice stuff but I bet he’s much more hands off than most think.
