Which would be a mistake. But it is becoming very clear while doing a lot of good work, Fitz doesn’t have a good pulse on the team.

A lot of his moves the past year to help take the team to the next level has backfired.

Toffoli/Miller were fine, the issues were the coaching staff moves + trusting Akira/Vitek as much as he did.

Miller has actually been a good move.

I don’t see think Toffoli in retrospect was (in fairness this is hindsight). They needed a forechecking board battler and he isn’t that. Instead he is slow and that has taken away a lot of the pressure game in the offensive zone the team needs to take pressure off the goalies.

Toffoli was done with the Carolina series/playoffs in mind, Sharangovich is on a heater and now in the social media age where you can see goals/clips ASAP it's always gonna be looked at as a bad trade. Shara won't even be in Calgary if I had to guess with how he's playing how far away they are from actually competing. I'm pretty sure you said that Shara is the type of player that bounces around from bad team to bad team because he legit can't crack a good team's roster consistently and that's someone who loves Shara. The dumbest move was Nosek for Boqvist in the bottom 6

I think the fans that thought we were going to see the next level season were just mistaken....next level was never going to happen with Bahl and Luke going full time all season, lose Dougie for Nemec and it's an impossible task

You can't go from Severson and Graves to Luke, Miller and Bahl... Then completely unforseen but eventually Hamilton for Nemec. That's a pure disaster.

I think Nosek was McLeod insurance or maybe that was even Tierney.

I think the expectation is Nosek was going to be a fine acquisition here, perhaps similar to Brian Boyle from years back.

But he's much closer to Vernon Fiddler in his final NHL season from the year before that.

Meh, he's a bottom 6 player and been hurt for most of the year so it's crying over spilled milk at this point but I still never got them not tendering Boqvist but whatever, they cleared made the effort to get heavier + slower after getting dominated by Carolina

Let me be clear I don’t think trading Shara was necessarily a bad move. In retrospect they got the wrong type of player back for him.

Nosek for Boqvist (and frankly Boqvist is in a heater as well) is another example of team making itself slower. Moves on paper that seem good, but they have helped kill the offensive pressure game (injuries hurt as well which is no one’s fault).

They were building nicely. And fitz jumped the gun.

Yeah they basically got slower and what made them great in 22-23. I mean they'll be better long term term because of it because they'll realize getting slower in today's NHL is a death sentence and they'll actually have a HC next year

Luke needs to sit for a game or so just to reset. He hit the wall a month+ ago and the staff is still rolling him out like nothing is wrong. He’s been bad.
Good thing they’re at least not doing the same thing to the goalies.

Oh…Nevermind.

Ya fortunately didn’t watch this atrocity. And gonna be hard pressed to even tune in the rest of the way if I am being honest. But is Fitz happy now with the impact of his prized acquisition in his grand total of about four mins of ice? What a joke….
