The coaching staff is bad to begin with. An afternoon game just compounds the problem. Teams know the Oilers are never prepared for games and just jump on them early to the early lead.

This team refuses to defend anybody. Every team we play skates into the zone and takes the puck hard to the net over and over again. Is this a system issue or our players just that lazy? I haven’t seen us allow such easy access to the net since Eakins was here.

I mean, the Oilers of last year would accept the reffing and go out and grind two goals back. This year's team lets in one bad goal after one bad call and it's like their effort level deflates. At a certain point it's on the coach, this team fragility is unacceptable.
