Hey everyone...Dr. Adam Kaufman thinks it would be a "huge mistake" for the Bruins to bring back Seids.
"Despite the advances in modern medicine, it’s unnatural – even for freaks of nature like Seidenberg – to return from ACL/MCL tears just more than four months later (the estimated recovery time after suffering the injury on Dec. 27 and having surgery on Jan. 7 was six-to-eight months)."
Well if it's "unnatural", forget it. Forget what the doctors say.

Not asking in any form of snark, any form of "gotcha" or anything along those lines. Genuinely wondering, because it is an absolute concern to see someone come back this fast, regardless of what treatment they are under.
But do you still feel this way now that contact is under way and sources like Pierre McGuire are reporting he will be back if they advance? It actually has seemed like they've played it relatively cautious in terms of when he started skating to when he started taking contact.

Not a cause just concerned that a. He's being rushed and b. Questioning what the drs and Bruins said at the time of the injury.
Returning after 5 months is unheard of with this injury and it raises questions that concern me.
I'm sorry if I care about his long term health and integrity of the game.
I'm not willing to sacrifice someone's long term health and career to win a Cup. Not worth it.

It's this part that I don't understand. How does this risk the integrity of the game? Isn't it possible he got a treatment that wasn't available 5-10 years ago?
It's pretty obvious Seids wants to come back and he and his doctors know the long term risks better than any fan. Is it possible you're just sticking with a position you took last month because you just want to be right? I mean knees are serious but it's not like he got a major concussion that could hurt the quality of life long after hockey.
Seventeen years removed from his NFL career, ex-quarterback Don Majkowski says he can no longer hold down a job. He can’t stand for long periods, and sitting is also tough. He has undergone nearly 20 surgeries related to football, including 11 on his ankle, three on his shoulder and two on his back. He has a 12-inch scar on his stomach, and he can’t walk very far because his left foot is fused with his ankle by a pair of metal plates and 13 screws. “It’s like walking on a pirate peg leg,†he said.
Almost half of those surveyed (47 percent) said team doctors prioritized interests of the team over their health. Just 13 percent said they felt their health came first, while 36 percent said their health and team interests were prioritized equally. Nearly four in 10 players (38 percent) sought medical advice outside of team doctors and trainers during their careers, while nearly three in 10 (29 percent) said their teams discouraged them from seeking out those second opinions.

Spoken like a young person who hasn't made the acquaintance of trauma-introduced arthritis.

Some quotes from the article;
Nothin' bout concussions in that statement, but it sounds pretty cruddy to me.
But hey....I want a Cup.
To be fair, there's nothing about a knee there either. Also, if surgeries then were as good as they are now, who knows how he'd be. Either way, once the real doctors clear Seidemnerg, he should play. That's all anyone is saying.
Knee and lower leg injuries account for 53% of all NFL injuries across all positions

I believe that Wes Welker tore both his ACL and MCL and was back playing in 8 months. So, two ligament...and WR's cut and turn as much/more than NHL players.
Some guys heal faster than others, and judging from hearing Seidenberg speak, he seems like a pretty smart guy who would not jeopardize his career after just inking an extension. But, maybe that's just me?

Unless I'm missing some inside connection you have, you know nothing about this situation. No one here is interested in him coming back if it's detrimental to his long term health, but none of us know if it is or isn't. Acting like you have some insight into all of this is just odd.
Just let it play out. If he can come back, he will. If he can't, he won't.
If Seidenberg playing out the playoffs causes him to miss time at the start of next regular season, why wouldn't you do that? Who cares about the regular season, we can and did get a top seed with Bartkowski and Kevan Miller playing every night. We need Seidenberg right now.Read through the last few pages. There are a few who are willing to sacrifice losing him for a period of time next season just so we can win the damn cup.
That is what I am referring to.
I have 0 inside information just using logic and other athletes injuries when discussing his return.
He'll return when he's ready but he won't be the same player right off the bat so my expectations are fairly low.
Cautious optimism here.
