I wonder if Hertl will be given a shot at the C position or will DeBoer put him on the wing? I'd like to see him as our 3C. Start grooming him now. Give him some linemates he can develop some chemistry with.

If they put Tierney as the 4C, it shouldn't be so bad. DeBoer got a lot of work out of his 4th line in NJ.

If they decide to go that route that may work but I really don't want them moving Tierney to wing.

Devils fan here,
just saying that PDB when he had the horses(2012,,) his system really worked with the Devils. Aggressive forecheck, cycling the puck, good possession team. In 12-13 and 13-14 the Devils were like top 5 shots allowed(least) and top 10 for shots on goal. For whatever reason we couldn't bury the puck in the net,,(losing Parise and Kovy back to back years tends to do that, along with very few blue chips/good forwards prospects...)
by the end of last year/this year, it simply wasn't working anymore. Refused to give young guys a chance to really prove themselves, his stubbornness not to change the system despite not having the players to work with,,,
anyway, I think he's somehow a good fit for the Sharks, a more veteran team that somehow ressembles the Devils back in 2012.
I think both the fans/team were happy to see PDB go. It was time to move on, because of the situation the Devils are atm.
