last night: Didn't play
Season: 9 - 8
Todays games, 11-12-2017
Edmonton at Washington
Should be lots of skill on display here, however, the Oilers still haven't figured out how best to use theirs yet this season.
Caps are coming off a big win against the Pens and in fact, are winners of 4 of their last 5, while the Oil may be a bit road weary on the East Coast playing in their final game of a 4-game road trip (4 games in 6 days).
Those aren't good odds for a team still struggling to put pucks in the net. Placing 15 Ovies on the Caps to win today.
New Jersey at Chicago
Two travelling teams who played the night before.
Hmm. NJ has had a pretty nice season so far, though they suffered through a 4-game losing streak before righting the ship by gutting out a 2-1 win over Edmonton yesterday.
Hawks have struggled all season, surprisingly, but made a nice comeback in a win against the stingy Carolina defense.
This game feels very much like a pick'em, but since I gotta pick one, I will give a slight edge to the Hawks only because, if they are both playing the goalie who didn't play last night (back to back games for both), I like Cory Crawford more than I like Keith Kinkaid, although I will note Kinkaid has played exceptionally well when called upon.
10 Chelioses on Chicago
Tampa Bay at Anaheim
Bolts have just steam rolled through the state of California to this point....both games in San Jose and Los Angeles looked pretty damned easy both in score and tempo. I would think the Lightning are due for a loss.
Well, maybe they are, but not so sure the sputtering Ducks are the team to hand them that loss.
I know very well sometimes it's the 'lowly' team (in this case, a beat up Ducks team) that causes the most trouble for a team on a roll, but I still feel the Bolts just have too much going in their favor right now.
4 complete lines getting the job done and a very active defense on ALL pairs with Vasy playing like a Vezina candidate.
Let's just put 25 Lecavaliers on the Bolts and call it a win, shall we?
San Jose at Los Angeles
Should be a very entertaining game. Two teams that were trending upward (LA has in fact, been pretty good all year), till both ran into a Lightning storm in their own buildings.
Well, pride should take over and both teams' frustrations should be taken out against the other. As if these state rivals needed any more motivation to beat the other, they have it in spades now.
Still though, LA has felt like the more consistent team.
Anze Kopitar has looked like a complete player again this year and his team is definitely following his lead.
I will place 20 Kurris on the Kings to edge out the Sharks in what should be one of the days most exciting games.
