Todays games 11-10-2017
Ottawa at Colorado
Normally, I'd go with a Sens pick here, but frankly, Ottawa has been scuffling around a bit lately, particularly on the PK, meanwhile, the 'Lanche have put together some good games as of late...and their PP has been good too. Matt Duchene will NOW be playing against the Avs....but I don't think that stops the Avs from putting together another good effort and scoring at least a pair of PP goals on this trip to Sweden.
Putting down 10 South Parks on the Avs to score the upset win.
Florida at Buffalo
Two teams that SHOULD have fans excited about this match up. Problem is, both have been pretty bad so far this year. Still though, at least Florida puts the puck in the net while Buffalo...well, I don't know what the hell Buffalo is doing on offense this season!
Panthers give up too many freakin goals, but I am betting alot of that had to do with James Reimer in net while Luongo was out.....well, Lu is back in and Florida should be better there now.
20 Gators say Florida wins this handily this evening.
Boston at Toronto
Not sure if Matthews will be playing today or not, but even without him, the Leafs have enough on offense to win a track meet against the Bruins.
But Boston has been pretty efficient this year at containing opposing offenses this year while the Leafs STILL don't play particularly good defense.
Even so, I will put down 15 Gilmours on Toronto, betting the combination of their offense and Frederik Andersen will help them eek out a win here.
Pittsburgh at Washington
Ahh, the ol Sid vs Ovie match up.
Not sure what is up with the Champ's defense this year, but if they don't show up, the Caps offense will rip right through them.
Game is home for Washington, they've won 3 of their last 4, but their PP has been sputtering, while the Pens' PP has been doing much better, despite struggling on their last Western Canadian road trip.
But Pittsburgh rounded into shape last game, albeit against the lowly Coyotes, and they are always up for this rivalry game.
10 Steigerwalds on Pittsburgh for the win.
Carolina at Columbus
Two teams struggling of late, and common sense says the Jackets are the more complete team, right?
Not so fast. The Canes have played some underrated defense so far this season, even though their offense still leaves a lot to be desired.
But the Jackets aren't lighting the NHL on fire offensively either, so that leaves goaltending and, yup, defense once again.
Going for a bit of an upset special here (even moreso an upset than an Avs win vs the Sens) and placing 15 Caniacs on Carolina to take this one on the road.
NY Islanders at Dallas
Someone lit a fire under John Tavares and his boys, while Dallas, under Ken Hitchcock have been somewhat average all year so far.
Jordan Eberle looks like an NHL player again, and his new linemate, Matt Barzal has looked insanely awesome setting him and others up.
Despite this being a home game for the Stars, I am placing 10 Gortons Fishermen on the Isles to win this in a very exciting high scoring game.
Winnipeg at Las Vegas
Ahh, and the cooldown begins for the Vegas Knights. Had to happen sooner or later, and well, over the last 6 games, they've looked pretty much like the expansion team they are.
I am not fully sold on the Jets being a legit contender this year (although Hellebuyck playing the way he has gives them some credibility), but I think they have more than the Knights today and moving forward.
Betting 25 Relocations on Winnipeg to come out winners.
